That's a cool looking truck.
I agree the v1 shocks looked much better.

Thanks guys, i appreciate the intetest. I also really like the look of the truck. It's somewhat unique. The Carisma also comes as a one piece full body.
I hadn't heard of Toyopet either until I looked into the history of the Stout. It was a branch of the Toyota brand. In its later years Toyota released with the Stout under the Toyota brand. In the very last years the truck came to more closely resemble the first Toyota pickup.
I don't have interest in owning an electric 1:1 either. To boot, I am not sure I would want a compact truck either. I do like the size of my 2nd generation Tacoma, however. The longer it runs the happier i get with it.I had never heard of Toyopet, that I remember, before this thread. The Stout brought back memories of articles I've seen recently about the rumored Toyota EV minitruck. It is a nice looking truck if you like the modern aesthetics and believe the concept renders, but I still have no interested in electric powered vehicles.
More Tube! As it is a vintage Yota, I figured a Japanese sun could be a good idea to work into the design. While not perfect, i like the result. Added piece to brace and fill out the look of the cage.
Thanks B! Yes, I use 3/16 mild steel brake line. It's cheap and easy to find. You'll have to give it a go, it can be pretty fun.

Straight. I just buy it from my local auto parts store. They typically have a bunch on different lengths. The shitty part with brake line is the coating needs to be sanded off. Wear a mask, I am pretty sure the stuff is carcinogenic. I may actually hit up a metal shop and order some 3/16ths tube in mild steel to get away from brake lineAwesome, thanks!
One more question, you buying straight tubing or coiled? And if coiled what’s your method to straighten? The reason I ask is Amazon has coils a ton cheaper than individual straight pieces.

Not green, it looks like thisYeah, that was one of the reasons I asked. I tried to buy some straight brake line a couple years ago from my local auto parts stores and all they had was the green coated tubing. I couldn't find the tubing without the coating. They told me they don't sell much of the non-coated anymore since the coating helps with corrosion.
I really didn't want to mess around with the coating, but...
Thanks for the info smog!"thumbsup"
