smogs Elements

Hello, hello. It has been too long since I updated this thread. I ran out of space in my RCC albums and so have needed to find a different way to post pics. Decided to give Tapatalk a go. Using my phone for this feels restrictive but whatever.

Build was mostly complete but it sat on the bench all summer because when it's warm out I just simply don't build tiny trucks. It's usually deck, cabin and home repairs. Bench time in the summer usually means broken parts and burned out servos.

So I finished the paint on the latest Enduro Ectoish

Decided to use the Harley Designs 3D printed interior which consists of a cage, seats and dash.

Managed to screw a Sand Scorcher driver to the chopped up seat. Need to go this route to clear the spur gear. I think Josh designed these pieces with the VFD in mind so mods were required here

As you can see I decided to go with a set of Pitbull Rock Beast XL tires mounted up to some Incision Method Wheels

The stock foams feel too stiff for this rig. Will see how they break in, but I suspect they will need some tuning

Wow that's a great looking truck! Nice work. Looks low and mean compared to the Fordcye.

The ecto looks down right mean. I very much dig it!

[emoji482] Cheers guys. I high sided the body some to bring it down. The front bumper was Mad Max inspired for sure.
Be lying if I didn't say I now wish I would have finished this in the spring. Because it is so light and low there are a few trails and lines I would have loved to test this on.

Taillights. Mounted led lights directly into the end of the stock chassis using grommet washers for a holder. They are fixed in place using the e6000 hence ain't going nowhere

Man smog, you built another masterpiece! I'm always impressed with the little details that you add to your rigs. The metal work is spot on perfect and I always dig the way you detail your drivers.

Well done sir, well done!"thumbsup"

Thank again B, much appreciated. I do really like this one. The Ecto body is such a killer body for a crawler

fantastic paintjob... the scheme and metal work makes all the details like the interior and cage and the b HR bling pieces shine where they need to. All metal work is killer I like the brushed look its got at the end. Also looks pretty capable. I always like the ecto but the release yellow was not my cup of tea.

Beautiful looking rig! Great work on the cage and bumper. I alway like seeing Rock Beasts out there!

Thanks for popping in guys, appreciate the feedback. I am quite pleased with has this one has turned out

I hear ya Speedy, such a vibrant yellow was definitely an odd color choice for the Ecto.

I forgot how massive the Rock Beasts are in their XL variety. I am much more familiar with the shorter sibling. It truly is a beastly looking tread

I was so stunned by the body that I intially overlooked the cage. I just went back through the thread and this cage is a stunner! Beautiful work! "thumbsup"

Thanks Jato, yeah, it worked out well. Tried to keep it simple and just follow the body lines.

Cookin' up somethin' new that's more of the same. It's a '64 Toyopet Stout, a needle in a haystack unless it's made from polycarbonate. Here we have the Carisma Coyote. Stout in spirit, wild in name.

Here's what they look like today(photo nicked from the net)

First bend. The plan was to start by brazing a bed.

It's an Enduro chassis kit, of course. My first v2. I like the included bent links. Liked the v1 shocks better. They included the aluminum caps and were blue. Otherwise they are the same awesome shocks.

I've heard of the Toyota Stout, but not Toyopet. Interesting.

That is a good looking body from Carisma. Can't wait to see all the smokin' details you have planned for this!;-)
