Nice Smog, that cage fits so snug in the body that it's a shame to paint it over!! "thumbsup"
Much appreciated Jim. I am hoping to leave it mostly visible from the inside of the bed. I did build it with the idea that it look presentable should the bedsides get removed
Very cool smog!

Scale tube work is high on my list of things to try

Extremely cool, smog!

Yep, tube work is a future goal of mine as well..."thumbsup"
I highly recommend it. Its takes time but is incredibly satisfying
Cage looks great and fits inside the Ecto nicely! Looks like the cage is going to hinge in the back. Cool!

I really need to follow your lead and get my cage building skills perfected! Well I need to start first!:)
Hinged eh? Had not actually thought to do that but is definitely food for thought. I have actually brazed anchor points for the cage to have it fixed to the chassis.

Thanks for all of the feedback guys, much appreciated"thumbsup"

I wish I can do caged work like that! Stuff like this is always a form of inspiration. Love it.

Ok, so my eyes saw something that wasn't there! I do now see the tabs for mounting the cage. I do like how you designed it.

Same here. I did buy all of the items needed to do the work, but never sat down to actually make anything yet. New life goal!;-)

I browsed this thread from start to finish. Lot's of great stuff going on here smog!! I'll be sure to keep watchin'. "thumbsup"

Appreciate all the feedback guys, thanks.

@hnoroian, I am using 3/16 tube (brake line)to build the cages, 3/16 rod for bumpers and sliders etc

hope to get some more progress this weekend

...added some sliders to my floorboards to finish off the sides.

HoW it is lookin with tires. Not sure I am going with the Hyrax as the choice, this wheel set just always seems to be laying around as I work up a new build

Sliders look great! I like how simple they are and how effective they will be. That is my one gripe about my Ecto's is the lack of rock sliders. I'm going to have to come up with something like that for mine.

It's funny you mention the Hyrax/wheel combo. I have a set of Hyrax on a nice set of Method wheels and I keep telling myself that the next build will use these tires and wheels. But then they always get replaced with something else, so the Hyrax are always laying in wait for the next build!

Thanks B

The Hyrax, yeah. I find they perform really well for what I roll on around here but I am not a fan of how the lugs look.

Been awhile since I worked on this, been taking in the last few weekends on the snowmobile

Onto the bumper

Damn sweet bumper/slider additions to the already killer rear cage work..."thumbsup"

Alright, been awhile since I updated this thread. Thanks again for all the feedback guys. Its all appreciated. I have not made a ton of progress as life got busy and grown-up responsibilities ate up all my evenings.

Back to the cage. I added some gussets which will become anchor points for the rear of the body if things go according to plan. I also added a bumper and tubing mid-cage as reinforcement. My rigs occasionally take big tumbles and its easier to overbuild now rather than have to straighten a bent cage later

Built the Transmission and added the HW 2200kv all-in-one setup.

Love how this looks with the shiny T-Case *bling-bling

Gonna use the stock bumper mount location for a light setup. Looks pretty rough at the moment, but I should be able to clean it up well enough to pass inspection. The plan is to fit some 5mm led's into the bumper

I still use Deans connectors. 'Old Sparky' , as JRH likes to call them

Messed around with some styrene strips thinking I might try and give the grill some depth. Not sure that I will end up using this piece or not. I suspect it would end up getting pulled off amidst the rigors regular body removal
