Hi All,

New to the forum and thank you for acceptance.

I have a rr10 bomber and I made some upgrades- castle mamaba x
, 3800kv motor and vanquish motor mount and steel spur gear.

Once I put everything together, installed the vanquish motor mount and steel spur and tightened the slipper clutch, the wheels are locked when roll forward and reverse with no power on. But when power is on, it works fine. I checked the axles and drive shafts are brand new aluminum, I even bought a new tranny but I don’t think this is the issue. It’s strange as when the oginal motor mount is in, it works fine. As soon as I tighten the slipper clutch with the vanquish mount installed, the wheels lock up.

The original motor mount, cam, and spur work fine- I don’t one what I am missing here.

Any advice?

Thanks you

I had a similar issue...and noticed that my inner "spur cover" was not seated all the way onto the transmission, and the spur gear was rubbing the cover. I tapped it on further and the binding went away.

Do you mean that the truck rolls fine under it's own power but when you try to turn the wheels with your hand it doesn't work? That's normal for motors with powerful magnets.

Yes - when the power is on the truck runs fine. When I turn the power off and try to move the wheels, they do not spin
Almost like they are locked. If this is normal then no worries correct? It was just strange that this started happening when I changed the steel spur and stock motor mount to the vanquish mount.

Make sure the pinion to spur mesh is good. If it is a 5mm bore pinion with a shoulder on it make sure the shoulder of the pinion is not hitting the spur. Also it is highly likely with the more powerful motor it is not wanting to turn and will be fine.:lmao:

Quick check would be to loosen the grub screw on the motor pinion so it'll turn on the shaft without changing anything else & see if the drive train is free.
If it is, the "lock up" is just motor load & 100% normal.
If it still locks changed are something is fouling

I have different opinions. I am on the exactly same setup - mamba x with 3800kv slate on my bomber. Different from another crawlers I have that I can so easily roll my bomber back and forth with a little power.

My wheels could drive pinion - spur - motor smoothly when I push it with hand. I am on stock gearing , I was wondering is there anything wrong with my setup.
