Skaldiddog's "Progress"

A well deserved 2.2p National Championship win for an all around awesome individual!! I never got a chance to personally congratulate you Sunday with all the running around in the rain during 1.9 and Supers....So, Congratulations Joel! You've been tuning and practicing your ass off for this and all your efforts finally paid off. So stoked for you man! Killer Job!

Congrats Joel! Yay! So happy for you!

Wish I could have been there to see you drive!

Thanks Chicklet. Hope to catch you next year.

Thanks a million Jimmy! I really appreciate your support. I felt bummed that I choked last year as you were pulling for me. Glad I got it this time around. Great to see you again. Good luck with your tan and please smack Patrick on the ass for me"thumbsup". See you soon.

Never met you but I want to congratulate you on your win! Love following your build since everything you run is home made and works so damn well! Can't wait to see more footage of your runs "thumbsup"

My Sponsors Rock and Other Cool Stuff...

Time for the compulsory rig-with-trophy pic...and a little more. First I'd like to thank my sponsors for their continued support. Thanks Bryce and Lisa (and DelMonte and JeremyH) of Team Debead for everything they've done for me. Y'all are great. Thanks Billy at Hitec RCD for all of my rock crawling and rock racing servos (7950TH) over the years. Phenomenal products and customer service. Thanks John Rob Holmes at Holmes Hobbies for my Team Flow 30t crawling motors as well as my BRSL/Mini ESCs. Once I switched to these awesome ESCs per Jake's suggestion, I never looked back. More on the Minis below. I'm looking forward to exploring new HH motor and ESC options down the road. Last but not least I'd like to thank Tom and Steve at Vanquish Products (VP) for their support. There's not a lot of VP parts on my comp rig (knuckles) but without them I'd look kinda funny trying to crawl. I've reserved my Wraith ("Buck Nasty" in Wraith section) as the focus of my VP fetish. Great products gents. Looking forward to some new bling. See you in Oct.

The day before Nats I painted my "Rain Shell" with no holes and all of the windows intact. Now there are practice, dry comp and wet comp versions. The wet one is retired permanently for obvious reasons.

Below see one of Holmes Hobbies new BRSL mini ESCs. The foam blocks keep them separated and the wire pegs are jumpers. I left an air gap between them for cooling. Once wrapped they are very small compared to the BRSLs and 16g lighter.

I'm going to try perforated wrap and see how it works. Cheese Wrap!!!

Congrats Joel, way to kick ass at Nats."thumbsup"
What are you doing to the Voodoo's? Reducing the overall diameter or narrowing them? Or both?
Also, how did you cut them soo perfect????

Thanks man-of-the-three-rivers. See below.

I see you got your picture post problem fixed.:mrgreen:

Maybe. I just copied and pasted in the pics. I didn't upload via links from google as I usually do. Don't know how that will impact the long term stability of the images. Is there a differenct between pasted in pics and pasted in links? Sometimes I see old threads with missing pics.

Drop back to post #352 for the full story.

"thumbsup"

That would be Page 18 for us slower folk... ;-)

Like me.

Joel, you cut n shut tires like you drive. Fantastic job
What did you cut the tires with? Looks like a really sharp hobby knife, am I correct? Also, I thought is necessary to use the black, rubber fortified, ca on tires.

Hey man of steelers,

Razor blade and loctite 406 McMasterCarr. I skip the black goop. No good in my book. Jake turned me onto this stuff. It will glue your fingers to tires in one second. Be careful. I walked around with black pads on two fingers for a day before I could peel it off without crying.
