Skaldiddog's "Progress"

Kool Aid

Man I should have done this a long time ago...

All you big bore fans will know what I'm talking about."thumbsup" Tonight it is time for the ~annual big bore shock fluid change...since none of it has leaked out since last July. I'm sure it's brown. Still no sound of air bubbles within.

Traxxas rocks.

are you sure the text and the picture is ment to be together??? he he he..
cant see what the big bores have to do with a voodoo tire ready for beadlock...

I believe, the 2 are 2 different parts..

The pic was for the tire.

The "no loss of fluid" in the big bores, is what "ppl with big bores know about"

: thumbsup:

(Cause I read it how you did, the first time I looked at it)

ABEC7 motor bearings

FYI if your HH puller motors ever cavitate under acceleration or deceleration then you likely have a bearing that, however still OK, is just not spec enough fight the power of the magnets in these cans.

Try these from Boca. $7 ea I believe. Problem solved. Luckily they have IDs printed on them so you won't confuse them with your old bearings...I almost did.

That might explain a previous "issue" with my old 500..
I didn't find it hindering in anyway, just a little extra noise..

Thanks Joel!

You are right man. The motors still work fine (no additional resistance) but they are less efficient at converting a voltage gradient into rotational force...and they sound like an old LCC. I like quite rigs.

CF plate is tough!

Carnage post. Props to Krawl and his bad ass CF plate. Years ago he cut my wheels and Saturday, I finall broke one. Six foot fall to solid rock. My G5 Ti axle won the fight. With a little help from Lisa's flashlight and screwdriver (anvil and hammer) and JRock's glue, it was good as new for 20 more gates. Guess I need to process the back up set of plates Krawl made for me after all. Even solid plate is not indestructable...but almost.

Thanks Lisa.

Thanks Lisa.

Voodoo Hookers

I've always wanted to build this tire. Silver Voodoo carcass and Gold U4 lugs! Gold compound is insane soft. I spun them on the lathe for a minute or two to knock off the sharp leading edges.
Not the best tire for every rock surface but holy crap they are cool.

I hope you're running them @ BLC'S next comp? I need another podium Finish.
Thinking out of the box for sure.
How long did it take to make racing slicks? (Sand off lugs)

How did you turn them so nice? Overstuff with foam?

Cut them off and then spun them bs 80g paper. Very soft foam so they didn't crown. Patience.

I made the slicks 8 months ago as well as the loose U4 lugs. Today was the easy part. Be careful what you wish for. They really work. And will more so as they approach a well worn Rover on 'roids.
