Sure its no SCX24, but to my Axial Wraith, this is still a micro....

This is not my first WPL build. I got this truck "for my son" (if my wife asks) and the only real mods are metal drivelines, 370 motor with 2 speed & it uses a WLToys ESC+RX combo with a 1200mah 2S LiPo.
It does really good on the rocks! See video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdFztwcsGds

This is what it looked like after I built it and added a few 3D Printed accessories:

I decided I wanted to take the body from my C14 to use on this C24.

Now its time to make the bed match the cab:

So here it is! My Red C24 with its new bumper, grill & headlights from the C14 and its sexy new red & black two-tone paint job!

So I thought I would put the camper shell off my other C24 on here to see what it looks like. Then I loaded it up with a bunch of accessories

Yeah I think I will keep it on there from now on 8)

This is a great looking and performing truck. I love the WPLs. I think the biggest and easiest upgrade is the 2 speed transmission, completely transforms the truck. What are you running for ESC?

Thanks :) The 2 speed is a great gearbox, but it hangs down so low, you need to pick the perfect line or the truck gets hung up easily.

This truck is using a ESC+RX combo from a WLToys K989.

Nice little 'Yota 8)
Thanks man :)

Art imitates life as they say. A lot of 4x4s have a central transfer case and skid plate that one has to “pick the perfect line for” but it’s usually the axle pumpkins that give the most trouble.

There’s a guy on YT that has modded the 2-speed tranny so it sits higher between the frame rails; he used strips of scrap lexan on either side as spacers.

Yes but in real life it does not hang down THAT low.

I have done that mod with my FJ Cruiser build ( see this post here: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/micr...-build-using-wpl-c24-chassis.html#post5983667 )

You can not really do the same mod on a C24 because the interior sits right on top of the gearbox. You would have to cut out some of the seats to make room and Im not willing to do that.

True. Not that low.

Oh yeah, that's a great FJ Cruiser build. Forgot that was you.

I'm looking into obtaining a C24 too and by the graces of the interwebz, I am aware of the kit's lack of space. In fact the interior is comically shortened vertically to where the bench seat is level with the floor.

Well, here's a pic of a stock one and the transmission or transfer case mount (more forward than I thought) is down lower than I expected.
