While I get the LOL. Traxxas wasn’t the first with a two speed or portals. Facebook sucks largely because of those type of posts.

At the end of the day all of these trucks are going to have similarities and shared ideas from others. Only so much you can do with a pair of axles, chassis rails, shocks, and transmission. As long as quality improves and we get more options it’s a win for the community.

Think about it like Mexican or Italian food, all that stuff is basically the same ingredients just prepared a little differently.

If you factor in the body with all its molded parts its not too bad, that is if you want the body. Price out a traxxas body with all its molded parts and you'll be looking at $150+ if ordered on its own.

X2, price is fair imo, I"m excited, offset front axle, super detail body, scale looking motor and tranny, all new except for the driveshafts! I'd use the body that's included, very nice looking, love it! "thumbsup"8)

Hmmm... minor goof - which is it?

Horizon's page: The S30 compound Nitto Trail Grappler tires....

Axial's page: The R35 compound Nitto Trail Grappler tires...

Also - in spite of what SBG stated, Axial claims ya still get all three hat options included - a military style helmet, ball cap, and cowboy hat.

The amount of hard plastic body detail add-on parts is frankly bonkers... fuel cap, hood latches, hood vents, wiper cowl, door handles, RED feakin' taillights(!)

R35 from what I've read and heard, this compound has been great for me in the past.

SBG Matt's was pre-production therefore not quite same as production kit, all the hats are supposed to be included. The scale details are awesome!

Builder's kits are usually one of the last things to be released if they ever come out so I'm guessing you're going to be waiting...

Agreed, Kit, RTR, then maybe builder's kit imo. "thumbsup"

Exactly.

Mmmm, now I'm getting hungry! :ror:"thumbsup"

Did Axial lose you???

Are you asking if I left? Yes, my last day was January 24th, it was a hard decision to make but I wanted to take the opportunity to be my own boss and bought an AAMCO store in Upland, CA.

We had our first day March 9th, things started off great and then all this Corona business started to hit. We are still open since we are considered an essential business so if anyone needs their car serviced we are here to help!

I will still be around the industry as a hobbyist, and I just went to a truck show and came back with a ton of ideas on things that should be made so I will still be dabbling in design!

Ouch. Best of luck to you.

Woohoo! "thumbsup"

Yes, I was asking if you left Axial. I said it the way I did because I consider Axial "losing" an asset which is you.

Good for you though! We all want to be our own boss. Good luck in your new venture. Maybe you can start an RC accessories side business.

A 550 will fit, depending on where the wires come out of your 550, you may need to trim the motor cover a bit.

I was thinking the 550 would be too long for the motor cover. Nice to know though. Oh well, I already have a 540 on the way and that should be plenty of power anyway.

WHAT ?? You better stick to RC cars ....you have obviously no clue about cooking :lmao:

Talking about the Americans versions of these...

Mexican: sauce, meat, cheese, beans, some kind of tortilla. Whether it’s rolled, fried, layered, or a taco the majority of it includes those ingredients.

Italian: sauce, meat, cheese, noodles. Kinda the same thing.

Obviously food is more diverse than trucks, maybe a bad analogy :lmao: *shrug*

Cant wait to see other bodies besides a jeep wrangler...also a straight axle option would be cool as i have zero interest in portal axles, but i understand if that isnt going to happen.

It's not noodles, it's Pasta... ramen is noodles. Just like ground beef is not called hamburger. :lmao:

Lol I’ll heed y’all’s advice and stick to tiny trucks :lmao:

Officially got a pre-order in, will try swapping some Trail King axles on when I get it to check the fit. The universals look more similar to the VP ones so I’m hoping the SSD is offset enough to work, unlike with the VFD. With this motor being higher up I’m hopeful.

Is the motor cover structural, or is it just cosmetic?

Cosmetic...you'll need to remove the fan belt detail over to get a 550 in there but the cover can stay on with a bit of trimming..again depends on where the motor leads are located on the motor.

I guess I should not be surprised, but I think it is interesting that Matt did a review of this new truck and Josh has not.

It’s ironic they released they released the capra curries today, they should have done it 2 days ago and they would have got my money. Now I’m awaiting the scx10 iii. Maybe next month.

Edit:the video about that release may come this weekend...?

I thought the same, but Matt said he got the first one. I'm assuming Josh didn't get his hands on one yet or we'd have a video by now. Just a guess though.
