"Scrappy" No Prep Street Eliminator

That's a great looking chassis! Love that the front kick up is gone... I know it's baked in since the class was born from off-road oriented vehicles, but it annoys me to no end.

NPDR is an interesting thing. High dollar rides, low buck trucks, whatever works. One of our fastest racers is a kid with a beat up old HCG slash. All he did was put on the tires, body, and a wheely bar. The rear shocks have bent shafts and don't even move smoothly, diff is wide open, no swaybars or suspension changes... but it hooks right up and hauls down the track every time. Makes the rest of us look like chumps. :)
Thanks.

I have gotten rid of the angled front on both Drag rigs...as well as my Slash basher. It created body mounting differences...and the made offerings are just bulky and heavy. The printed parts help to drop weight and maintain mounting positions.

This ride was supposed to be a "budget" ride. I kinda failed. LOL.

My paint skills have gone to garbage.... But Scrappy needed a body for next weekend.

They look great!

Just started drag racing myself this season....it's been interesting. Never knew how hard it would be just to go in a straight line. Once you do though...nailing a solid pass is just so damn satisfying.

How does one keep a vehicle with zero degrees of caster moving in a straight line? Smaller caster angles make for more responsive steering, but at the cost of the vehicle wanting to wander.

Dropped the new Hobbywing Xr8 Pro into this ride... So much stouter than the XR8 SCT. The programming options are also much better for drag racing. Even ordered a 2nd for my Nova build. These are going to be HOT for drag racing.... So I figured to grab both early before nobody has stock. Once word gets out on these, they will disappear.

Also starting work on a case for building my own Cap Pack for both cars. I just cannot swallow ordering a $40+shipping pack with no connector when I can build a pack for < $15 that fits where I need it and I can print a housing that is super light and protects it. Caps should be here Tuesday and I have a CAD drawing ready to adjust based on final dimensions. I printed the bottom 1/3 of the case to use as the adjustable model. Excited to make adjustments and show the results. If it all comes together, I will share the stl files.

I considered the DRC bulkhead for my primary build. At the time it was not released.

Now I could have bought it now, but I already had a lot of expensive cf xtreme rc parts up front, and DRC said that theirs required their tower... I believe that others would fit, but did not want to change it all. So the Barnyard unit dropped right in, had a body adapter to keep my same body holes, and did not require a certain tower. When I eventually find an in stock bumper, that body adapter will be gone.

Finally I like supporting the little guy.... Barnyard is that. I also ordered one of his Vega bodies.

I put a DRC Zero in my TARP Traxxas based kit and used the TARP Front shock tower, bolted right up. Just sets up off the bulkhead a little bit where the DRC sets on the bulkhead. No Issues there.
FYI, its Backyard RC, not Barnyard.

I've been busy on my NP Rigs. 3 of them now. lol All have the DRC Zero * Bulkhead in them.

If you're looking for Ceramic bearings for your rigs, the ceramics hybrids Justin sells are some very smooth rolling bearings and the $ is good.
Think he is asking 48.00 for a full set of Cermics for a Slash/Bandit based NP. 35 for the drivetrain I think it is less the spur gear bearing.
He has DR10 kits also.

Just waiting for my Alpha Body (the Vega) to show up from the 2nd rnd of Pre Orders.

Looking good on the rigs. Scrappy looks like he's ready to Throw Down! lol

I, like you, failed in my current attempt to do a budget build for the 13.5 Super Street Class on a LCG Chassis.
Will end up being around the 900-1000 mark. I guess that's a Budget build. I have 2 large into the TARP and at least 1800 into the Redshift.SMFH

It is an addictive hobby.

As long as you are not building debt.... Enjoy it all!!!

I just got the new xr8 pro esc in the mail today for my other build. It is a great looking and built esc.
