Hey guys, decided to bring my newest build to the public.. was keeping it secret for the past week or so..

I have wanted one of these trucks since they came out, and Amain had them on sale for $269 shipped, so I jumped on it!

Initial plan was to shorten the wheelbase and run a Parma 69 Charger body on it done up as a General Lee w/ JC Hazard 2.2/3.0 wheels, and Pro-Line rally tires.. plan changed when I found a new Pro-Line Dodge Ram 2500 body for a Slash.. here is the new plan -

Converted to 2wd w/RTR front axles (still has front dif intact to make 4wd by changing only the front axles)
Pro-Line Dodge Ram 2500 for a Traxxas Slash
Stock Yeti Score interior modded to fit
Pro-Line 1.9 BFG All Terrains (crawler tires)
SSD Champion (Walker Evans) 2.2" bead lock wheels (6 of them - 2 spares will sit in the rear cage)
SSD scale steel driveshaft
SSD scale dana 60 rear axle
Hot Racing spool, 43/13 gears, front knuckles, lower rear links, front away bar
RPM spare tire carrier for Traxxas Slash
EBay rear upper/sway bar links
Associated light bars - 10 LED for the roof - 5 LED for the front bumper
RC4WD LED light controller
Traxxas TRX4 tail housings
Vanquish brass pivot balls
Yeah Racing fire extinguisher, and fuel cans
Yeah Racing 3x39mm TiNi turnbuckle to replace stock servo link
EBay 3d printed Optima red top battery
Tactic servo
Flysky 2.4 radio
Castle SV3 5700kv combo geared 15/64
Gens Ace 5000 50c 2s - possible 3s later on

What's done -
Chassis assembled
Servo 0'ed, and installed
Motor/ESC installed
Rear lower links figures out
Upper links took 4 hours but are done (had ordered shortened, but were still to long)
body in final cut, ready to mount
Interior final cut, and mounted
rear cage is modded, and fitted decent -still need to make a reinforcement for the very back though I think (seen on here someone used turnbuckles from the cage to the upper link mounts so going to look into that)

I just ordered most of the parts, from RPP Hobby, and still waiting for -
SSD wheels, 1 pair BFG tires, SSD driveshaft, front sway bar kit, 43/13 gear sets, Yeah Racing bits, RPM tire carrier, faux battery, and eBay rear sway bar links

Still looking for aluminum King shock caps/spring retainers from a Bomber as well to finish the shock.. pics so far -

Well got the body mounts figured out! Going to have 8 pins holding it LOL! 2 in front, 2 in the roof, 2 in the sides of the front of the cage, and 2 in the rear in the tops of the fender. Bought 5 RC10 4-40 screws that have holes in them for a body clip

Also figured out how to reinforce the cage using the kit lower link plates with soft offset bends in them, drilling 2 holes in the sides of the chassis tub. Works MINT! Lets hope it will hold the weight of the spare wheels/tires HAHA!

Well til more parts show up!

Looking good so far bud. Someone really needs to make an old Ram body like that Walker Evans truck.

This is going to be awesome. Makes me miss my short wheelbase truck.

Back40 - I agree! I'd be using one instead of the 2008 or so Ram here!

Well I splurged on this build again and ordered more parts! HAHA should have everything here by next weekend!

Hot Racing Wraith sway bar set (crossing my fingers it will work HAHA- mostly bought for the shorter arms)
Hot Racing Twin Hammers upper rear links (hoping I can make them work)
Crawler Innovations Comp cut firm foams for the tires
Yeah Racing aluminum rear lower link mounts
SSD Yeti centered Diamond rear axle setup
SSD pumpkin skid plate^
New set of stock blue aluminum shocks to try to mount dual rear shocks on the TH rear lower links

I used some cheap Wraith aluminum uppers and cut them down a little. Standard Wraith ones are too long and mess up the pinion angle. I can take some pictures/measurements if you're interested.

Please do!

Got a set of wheels and the SSD driveshaft today - Drive shaft fits MINT

I mounted up the "spare tires" and mocked them up to get the idea.. probably won't need the extra rear shocks haha it is still pretty high with the wheels/tires/battery sitting on the cage.

Obviously just mock up, have MANY more parts to add yet- those should be here by Thursday! Wheelbase is near perfect, I'll probably have to trim up the front wheel well so the tire doesn't rub in front.

The 2.2 wheels look massive compared to the 1.9" x 4.25" tall BFG crawler tires LOL looks weird to me, but the tires fit the body perfect. width is perfect as well all 4 tires should tuck up in the body decent.

HUGE update!

Got all the parts, and got them installed.. for the most part.. haha

SSD diamond (Fab 9) rear axle assembled and installed
Hot Racing Twin Hammers upper links installed w/ SSD bent rod ends
Hot Racing rear spool installed
Body final !FINAL! trimmed, and mounted!
Painted the lower link plates holding the cage in place (black)
Moved fuel cans to spare tire carrier
Trimmed and mounted the number plates (may lower them yet not sure)
RPM spare tire carrier installed
Hot Racing front sway bar installed (have the mid or heavy bar in it)
Hot Racing 43/13 gear sets installed - sadly did everything I could in the front, but it still binds - so I left all the front driveshafts out

Installed the RC10 bolts in the top of the cage - the sides were to short to be reliable, or wide enough. So I ditched the two stock pieces on the cage, and mounted a pair of left over Yokomo touring car body posts cut to length. 8 pins total in the body LOL

Hot Racing Wraith rear sway bar installed - not sure if it will stay due to it always coming lose, but we'll see. Installed the light rear, but will probably end up with the heavy bar

Mounted light bars as well, and came up with a plan for the lights (going to run off a TX 3s lipo, the RC4WD super bright LED controller, and can't use the TRX-4 tail lights SO going to buy 3 pairs of RPM tail lights since I can't find a decent housing I like for a reasonable price(not spending $100 alone in scale light housings LOL)

Installed the Crawler Innovations 1.9 x 4.5" firm foams in the 1.9 x 4.30" BFG's, and tightened up all the bead lock ring screws in the SSD Champion 2.2 wheels - they mounted up super easy!, are VERY firm and now support the weight of the truck - which is getting heavier the more I work on it haha

Mounted another pair of stock shocks in the rear as well, and will have to go down in shock oil I think due to the rear being rock hard - it don't bouce when dropped, stops at ride height LOL so ya will have to look into shock tuning once it's running..

Have another $100 or so order with Amain waiting til I get some free cash (Anyone wanna buy some stock Yeti parts?) LOL til next time... possibly paint or get the chassis wired and running (charge the battery to probably)

Looks real good bud! Can't wait to see it painted up and decaled "thumbsup"

Small update!

Body is painted/ decaled! Also ordered the last of the parts to wire the lights, and electronics. Also got some detail stuff for the interior as well.. going to wait for that stuff to show up and do the interior, and a front air dam on the chassis, so you can't see the trans/motor through the body..
