**Update**

I finally had a chance to get you guys an update on this "thumbsup" I want to say thanks for those that helped, that was very awesome  We used the donations to buy bags of small river rock which we will line the pits with once we get the industrial strength bags laid down so they the pits will hold some water  I also scored about a half a pallet of rocks from my GFs dad which was awesome too. I started to lay some of them out. We still have alot of work to do, but its getting there. Its a pretty fun course to run already 8)

The entrance of each bridge is done that if you come from the left, its easy, middle is avg, and the right side is the hardest.

were going to line most of the area with rocks eventually, we are also going to add some mulch here and there, and probably leave some just plain old dirt

Here is some 4runner action shots on the course

WOW Mike... Coming along GREAT!!! Can't wait to TRY IT OUT!!! "thumbsup"

just needs a little WATER & MUD!!!!! :-P;-)

have you guys considered concrete alot of 1 to 1 comp course are all man made out of concrete. you should be able to get some quick crete cheap. then just dump and shape to your desire. it works great, also if you see some guys tearing out side walks or driveways they will gladly dump if you are close buy it saves them money. concret has insane traction and can be made into lots of crazy shapes. natural rock looks great but concrete is pretty cheap. "thumbsup"
course is looking good by the way.

WOW Mike looks great, hope mine turns out that good, Have to take a road trip to your house with the jersey boys sometime"thumbsup"

If you see road construction and giant rock set aside, ask the supervisor and i bet they will let you take them. If anyone is familiar with highway 290 between giddings and austin, texas they are widening it to make a median and separate traffic, my dad took one of our wreckers out there and asked the supervisor if we could take em'. he said it aint gonna hurt him if their gone. So we got 6 or 7 giant sandstone rocks about 1,000+pounds each for free for our landscaping at our house house, ill get pics of them tomorrow. You'd be surprised by just asking someone.
Just food for thought."thumbsup"

Long Island?

You know how much that crawling spot is worth in that area?

:lol: Yea you aint kidding, I am hoping no one steals my rocks... I might have to go out and get crawler park insurance

Talked to my stepdad about that originally, A bunch our neighbors that he grew up with on the road own a fence company, and they get that stuff cheap, I am going to see about getting some eventually.

We are still looking into that as well, My stepdad knows a couple people in the HW dept so we are going to see what we can do.

Thanks guys

I have started working with the man-made rocks for my course....It pretty easy, you can either shape the dirt or use some foam, then coat it in about 2" of concrete...The same area that cost me $300 for natural rock to build will be about $75 in concrete and a bunch of work but, you can make some killer obsticles and its much better than crawling just rocks.

small update

Jeff (crawlingfireguy) worked on the crawling pit for me the other day, he laid down some industrial strength garbage bags then used all the river rock we got while in OH to cover it... goal it to have it fill up with some water  I also blew all the leaves out Tuesday night but they are back already  Ill have to blow them out again for Saturday.

Couple of pic-tuures

HEY.. .where's the WATER!?!?
I'm sure SOMEONE has access to a 500-1000 gal tanker!!! ;-)

Looks GREAT guys... can't wait to run it! :-P

Looks great. I too vote for some concrete work, especially after attending the last W.E. Rock comp in Spring, Texas.

As for the water... eh, just setup some tarps for the next rain so that they will drain into the channel.

why not get one of the pumps at lowes or something? we have a black one we use for draining the pool water at the bottom, or when we have a sewer backup or something :|
