Surprising Crawling Spots

Do you guys like trail runs in dry rocky river beds? I just emptied a few packs on a man made riverbed along the front of a business here in Lakeside and it was sweet. Rounded rough granite cobbles from fist to football size with some 2-3 foot chunks here and there with nice little verticals. There are 3 or 4 strips about 50 to 100 feet long about 6 feet wide winding between the sidwalk and parking lot.

I know some local parks have similar stuff, but you'd be surprised what you can find in front of businesses, schools and shopping centers.

This one is just off 67 at Riverford. Cross the San Diego River bridge just north and there is a building called "Turning Point" on the right and the trail is right next to the sidewalk. Let me know if you have any good spots in other parts of town too.

Cheatin and I have scouted out some other East County locatios, and one might turn out to be really good, but it needs some work. If we can make it into something worth traveling to we'll let you know.

I live uptown in western north park just off the 163....are you east or west of 805?

Ty I will have to see your new trails... I know mission valley has a bunch of places along the river bank where they have a lot of boulders

I live east of the 805 in the Otay Ranch area. I havent had a lot of time to go looking for a spot around here. I have onley been here for a short amount of time.

Welcome to the area, crashen1. The Muscle is 15 or 20 miles north of you, and I'm 20 miles east of him out the 8 then 67 in Lakeside. Cheatin lives a little closer to me than to the Muscle pretty close to the 8 in La Mesa.

I figure I'll keep looking around in the East County cause there are great rocks everywhere - but most are on private property. When we have something worth visiting I'll give directions and try to set up a GTG.

Gtg?

Anything going on this saturday? Felicita? GIR? ???

Sunday I'm going to try racing my stock TT-01 behind discount hobby off of clairmont mesa blvd just west of convoy.

Ty and I have every other Friday off and this Friday is one of them. We're heading to Felicita Park on Friday, but Saturday sounds cool too if my wife doesn't complain about it...

Saturday at Felicita around 9:30-10:00?? I think I can make it for that.

I ordered a K2-3S chassis monday. I hope to use it for a scale build, maybe 1.9 wheel size.

It may take a while, I need to collect a few parts still, but it should be fun. If you have any time friday morning or evening we can do a trail run in my yard (G.I.R.) And don't forget your off road vehicles for the race tracks.

Surfs up

Let me know if / when y'all might stop by... The surf is supposed to be good tomorrow...3-5 ft occasional 7 ft.

I can surf before or after crawling.;-)
