San Diego RC Crawlers

Took a pack over to the "Canyonside Community Park" at lunchtime and have a great time on the rock formation. Other than staying away from a backside tumble (there is running water down in those reeds), it's quite a good location for a noontime break. The gunite that binds the rocks is incredibly "sticky" and I was surprised to see the near vertical slopes my crawler was capable of climbing. Great find, Calcat430d - well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Black Mountain just north of Mercy Road in the Mira Mesa area west of 15 and north of Mira Mesa Blvd.

If you ever have a spare noon hour and plan on hitting the rocks, let me know and I'll try to meet you there.

cool i am glad you checked it out and had a good time. i know which vert face you are talking about . i broke my truck on it tonight on the way home . i was trying out my new imex rubicons i got yesterday. first time up fell of the rock going up and to the right . it fell on the front tire and popped the end off the link. bummer did not have my tool box. "thumbsup"go slow

ok, correct thread this time...

Good to see SD is getting in on the crawl scene.

I grew up in La Mesa, HHS '91. My Mom still lives in the area, and I will probably be down over the x-mas/new year break to visit. If there are any get togethers I'd love to do some home town crawlin with some locals!! Mom lives out in Lawson Valley on a 55 acre ranch with lot's of rocks...so I am looking forward to a little exploration and scale trail riding too!!!

Cool man, I was HHS '89 but actually got out in '88 in night school. Born and raised here too. We'll definately have to GTG when you're down here. Post up and let us know.

Anybody up for a Felicita gtg on saturday morning. I should be there if there's no rain. I have been away to long, and need the practice before the Jan comp. I will bring some balls and we can have a mini comp. Let me know.8)

I'm there, I'm sure Ty will be too, and Neal if we can pull him out of bed that early again.

Cheatin's right, I'll be at Felecita on Saturday too. It'll be my first time through a gate and it sounds fun.

Calcat430d - I have Rubicons and they did very well at your spot. Except for kreepy red narrows front and rear with 3.5 oz lead in each front, I'm box stock. Motor is an Integy V10 Matrix 55t with very crappy Associated electronics. I'd be nice to see how your chassis mods compare with my stock setup. Any Monday, Wednesday or Thursday at noon works for me - let me know if you want to hook up.
If you have the chance, come up to Felicita Park Saturday and check out some serious rocks.

Calcat -

I'll be there by 12:10. I only have a long lunch hour, but any crawling is good crawling. Don't worry too much about Saturday - it's likely to be rained out.

Ty

If it does rain sat we can always do it the next one(15th). Maybe we'll get lucky. If it's not raining I should be there by 10:00, have to set up for an archery shoot first.

I was thinking this sat(15th) but I'm good either way. Post up and let me know what you guys think. The more the merrier.:D

I (and very probably Cheatin') will be at Felecita this Saturday the fifteenth. The following weekend is too close to christmas and is pretty full already.
