Rockshow SS-T for truck. The rebuild.

Have you tried mrc silvers in back? I didnt like mini silvers on rear, seemed a touch to soft. You could also lay fronts back one hole. This is assuming the fronts over powering the rear on verts.

I have some MRC silvers I can try.

Try lowering your rear uppers one hole on the chassis. Try to make them as horizontal as possible. Raise your front upper link mount at the axle with a small (2mm) spacer. See how that does.

Cant lower the rear uppers at the chassis anymore. Already in the lower hole. I can move a hole back? Ill give the front mount a raise too.

No real updates lately. Was lucky enough to pull 7th at Battle grounds. Then ran finals and fell back to 9th. Was totaly happy with my finish and how the rig performed.

Havent made time to change the rear shock springs. Maybe when I get my Felsenfest SCX10 shock bodies Ill through on the MRC silver springs and give it a try.

Good job at BG Karl, to bad you could not stick around for 2.2s finals. Good luck at Nationals! "thumbsup"

Lovin the rig man!!!

I have an SS that should be in the mail this week. I really like what you did with the panels.

I wanted to ask if/why you preferred the sedonas over boss claws?

I have loved sedonas in the past, but am somewhat new to the sub 5lb crawler world, and find claws intriguing.

Thanks. I think your gonna like the SS. It really does work well.

Im always behind the times when it comes to tires. On a comp rig Ive only ever used Cougars, Rovers, and now Sedons. All 3 work well at our local comps. I changed to Rovers over the Cougars for the extra height. Wore out 2 sets and bought the Sedonas. I like the Sedonas better than Rovers, and after shaving the sidewalls some on the Sedonas I like them even better. Most of the local guys here run pin tires and they do well. Im just not 100% sold on them. I have tried a few times to buy some used Boss Claws from the for sale section just to try, but have always been at the back of the pm line.

LOL i feel that.

This hobby evolves so quickly its sometimes easy to be left in the dust.

pin tires seem to accomidate a specific driving style.

I just don't know if i can drive like that.

Could you post which they are or link to them...there are a bunch of inserts there and I don't know which ones to order.

Made a few small changes before Nats. Notice the shocks and upper links.
The carbon fiber tube links are 1oz lighter than the alum. so far they are holding up well. I also ordered some Hitec servo grease. My servo is about 2 years old and I thought it was time to regrease. After cleaning all the old grease out and regreasing the servo actually sounds better.

The rig did good at Nats. came in 37th. Only trouble with the rig was when I jumped through a bonus gate and right into a rock wall. As the suspension compressed on impact the rear frame brace slamed down on the rear upper carbon fiber links and snapped them both. They held together by a fiber or two long enough to finish the course with the rear axle wobbling from side to side. I changed them out to the old aluminum links and finished out the day.

I will be making another set of C.F. links and somehow change/move or remove the rear brace so the next set is safe.

Great job at Nats Karl you are moving up the ladder, you will get a podium at a big comp soon I can feel it. "thumbsup"

love this build thread i think your truck looks killer, i want to do the same with my ss i have coming

Yeah this rig looks great, it performs even better. I unfortunately spend most of my time unsuccessfully trying to keep up with it. :ror:

Not to many changes to this rig lately other than shock oil here and there, and some tire siping. I need to practice more

Great job on getting 7th yesterday in pro, nice way to back up bringing some second place hardware back to Virginia in 2.2s Friday at ecc. It was great to see a fellow VARCOR club member do well at a big comp. "thumbsup"
