RGT RC4 Ver.3 Bowler (aka FTX/HSP/Barrage)

I've not really been out with it lately because it's been bloody clod here and I'm a cold weather wuss. I hate it. But I did manage to get the FS GT-3C installed and tuned in. Seems like a really nice radio for the money. Been having a bit of trouble with the axle slopping side to side, affecting steering a little. Not a real big deal considering the relatively small amount of money I have in this thing. Been eyeing the RC4WD Toyota body lately. It really needs a body that is as nice as those axles.....

Glad to see some more are making their way into the states!

Finally got to accessorizing.
I've done nothing under the hood besides gear grease and shock oil.

Never using photobucket again

Why can't I see pictures?
He's using PhotoSuckit and they charge like $400 a year now. :( If he's using a mobile device (smartphone or tablet), I'd recommend Tapatalk (as I did below). He could try Flickr from windows or Mac. Something I'm experimenting with is Google photos: https://www.labnol.org/internet/embed-google-photos-in-website/29194/

So the tranny gears are part number 61853, and the CVDs are 68214, but I can't find any spare parts on the interweb. Anybody got a lead on these since they tend to break and I don't want another dead toy-grade RC to throw in the trash?

I emailed RGT twice regarding where to get parts. The first time they advised me to shop for ECX Barrage parts from Amain Hobbies. When I explained that I can get parts from Asia, they told me to get parts from Asia Tees. I have not had any luck finding parts from either of those sites. So far, the nice parts listed in the manual seem to only exist in the manual.

Yeah, I checked both sites and no matching parts were found (the CVs don't match the pics above). No parts support, no purchase. :(

Yeah man,

If RGT wants to sell more trucks, I hope they will wake up and get some parts out there for sale. I know there must be a place in China with all kinds of HSP parts, but I don't know how to find it....yet. I guess I'm glad I went with the ECX version. I know Horizon Hobby does the right thing.

So i picked up a 1st gen rgt crawler for the cost of a carton of beer then sold it to a mate. He killed the little 380 motor in no time so we tried to fit a traxxas titan 380 motor which is identical in size to the 390 in this 3rd gen but it did mot fit. So I did some investigation and compared all 3 versions of the trans. First the original trans from the redcat e16/hsp kulak/ecx rukas. Then the 1st gen rgt trans with 380 motor then the 3rd gen with 390 motor. Trans housing and gears are identical but the motor plate is different for all 3. My mate tried modifying the 380 motor plate so it looks similar to the 390 in the pics.

My mate ended up selling his before I could fix it so I had to use my 390 motor, motor plate and pinion to get it going in time. So now I need to source those 3 parts but it's proving more difficult than I thought.
