Ha its not difficult at all really, skin is paper thin these days. Newb as in what? building tlt crawlers before scalers came about, then yes.

Got a barrage doomsday, its kinda a weak POS i should have stayed clear of the china crap i love to flame fooled me once again, so I voted dont care to be fair.

Maybe we need to split the forum in to 2 different forums rccrawler and rcscaler that would solve alot of the issues everyone is talking about put a 1/12 scale section in the scaler side

I voted Yes. I just bought my oldest daughter the kit version. This is her first rc. She built it all by herself. While I watched.

"Weak" as in the 390 motor instead of a normal 540 or 550? Or "weak" as in things have broken?

I have the doomsday too. I put real tires on it (even though the stock tires are actually not all that bad, they crawled better than the stock tires on my exceed maxstone 10) put the battery in front and put a stampede body on it.... I dont see anything on it thats weak... I suppose compared to a "1/10 scale the parts are smaller yes, so that might give the impression its weak, but its not a 1/10 scale... I guess if you were to treat it like a 1/10 scorpion and add a pound of weight to the tires you would see the downside of the 390 motor, but keep it light and its a great crawler. I havent broken anything, its significantly faster than my maxtone 10 on flat ground, and crawls 90% as well.....
If you are expecting to get an SCX10 for $99 out of this truck, you would definitely say its weak chinese crap.... But as a light, nimble, smaller than 1/10 crawler, its plenty strong so far IMO...

I saw a video where a guy used a Redcat spool.

So how are we looking at getting a spot for the Barrage?

I made a request about 3 weeks ago now, but maybe the person in charge is on vaca in the Bahamas? I dunno ...

Most likely mine. :)

The problem at this time, well covered in other threads, is limited supply. And shipping, for some outside the US.
I'm hoping to find a fabricator to make some spools for everyone, but it will be a few weeks if I do; I'll let you know.

Just musing here. I have wondered from the start why you can't buy the spool separately, and re-use the perfectly good ring gear and bearings. Am I missing something? Too complicated for the average Joe? Is the gear so cheap it really doesn't matter?
I'm not sure. Maybe they can't get it from the manufacturer separately?

Besides using it as it came from the factory its a great platform for custom swb rigs and swapping axles and other parts are bolt on or need a hole drilled.

I'd "like" your post if I could, and I've already voted in the affirmative on your poll - and I haven't even added a Barrage to my stable yet...

hillbillyrc, you are to the Barrage what Natedog is to the Ascender!

"thumbsup"

Thanks, that says a lot. I know how respected natedog is around here.

Team Associated with the Element Enduro already has it's own section.
I wonder if the Barrage will ever gets it's own section.

We appreciate any consideration you can give - I just re-upped my membership for my 3rd paid year!

isent the ecx brand basicly the same as the redcat brand or exceed or or or or the few barrages ive seen were almost the same rig as the everest16/maxstone16 / vaterra slickrock or losi mini crawler it looked like they just changed to frame rails instead of twin verticle plates
