Reworking the Super

Your going to be unstoppable!!! I really like the progression you have taken from start to present with the tuber! Seems like you really have it "dialed in"! Keep up the good work"thumbsup"

I went back to the 35t lathes, the brushless is just to weird and has way to much power, on the other hand the 35't smoke with the 3 cell lipo. I am going to keep it, and cut out some weights out of steel for the front end. Also I put the 5995's in and ordered to cool bec's from Holmes hobbies. Here's my new speed and turning radius......

I got it from holmes hobbies. 4000 mah 3 cell. The last charge was nearly 4300 mah. Nice and light to.

How is the drag brakes with the 35T and MM. I'm sure it's not as good as the BL, but is it enough to hold the rig back? I'm considering going back to brushed as well.

Its about 40% of what the brushless would do. But the 6 tooths and the natural braking that a brushed motor has does well enough, but it will hold the rig back.

Chin on Floor !

looks like you have Nailed the perfect setup
Dam good crawl and speed to boot

:?: Why 5995's and not the 5955's ?

:?: So you prefer the 6 cell sub C 35t Brushed ? over the Dual BM16 3 cell Lipo ?

How's those Mamba's :?:

Its hand wound 35t brushed AND 3 cell lipo. The BM-16 are a great motor, more power than you could ever need, I just like the feel of brushed motors better, and this late in the game with the nationals comming up I don't want to change my setup that much. As for the 5995's over the 5955's, the 5995's can run on 7.2 volts for 417 oz in of torque, I am running them at a safe 6.0 volts for 333 oz inch, but they are also 180 degree rotation so a much shorter servo horn can be used for full throw. So while the 5955 has to use a 1" horn I can use a .5" horn and still get full throw but add to the actual torque of the servo. Also the mamba max's are awsome on brushed motors, the smoothest esc by far. And you can get the BM-16, mamba's and the servos all at the crawler store to save on shipping.

With all the aluminum stuff under there and no underknuckle batteries I had a serious weight problem, the truck was now neutral and I have had great success running about a 70% forward weight bias, so I drew up some wheel weights at work today and torched them out on the cnc torch, drilled and tapped a hole for the set screw and whalla! 14.5 more ounces per side in the front for a total of 29 oz, it feels realy natural, the truck is at 12.5 lbs now but with the added torque and speed of the 3 cell lipo and the strength of the robot servos it feel lighter than my old setup, and it realy hooks up now, just look at the tires compress. I like the weights better than the batteries because there's no wires to run, which is a less chance for a rock to disconect a power wire, and they tuck in the thorns very nicely. Unlike sticky weights these cannot come off durring a comp, the set screw can lossen I suppose but the come off without removing a tire.

GReat info feedback Writing "thumbsup"

I knew the 180* but they heat up pretty good.
Isn't the voltage the same for the 5995's and the 5955's :?:
It's a hard toss up between the two, the longer arm the less torque.

I see that dual BM16's would be to much , How about a single to run a Super? is the BM16 brushless?
Or should I use a 35t ? Sell me one ?
I'm building a 16" super with 2 speed trans
Recomend where to buy lipo,? cheap batteries.com? How long do they last:?:

Sweet Wheel Weights !!
mine roll inside the tire, same effect as yours just hidden.

Rock On!"thumbsup"
PS Thank you for video on putfile and not utube

I'm buying a Mamba X:-P

The BM-16 is a great brushless motor, I just can't get used to the feel of it in time for the nationals so I am sticking with what I know. For a shaft driven super it would be awsome!! Run a 3 cell lipo with a mamba max and about 65:1 to 85:1 gearing and you will have plenty of power. Holmes Hobbies is were you need to go for the lipo, thats what I am running, his 4000 mah 3 cell.

Finnaly I got around to making some kingpins so I could run my integy aluminum tubes with the jp knuckles. I just turned down the head of a 4mm socket head cap screw to fit the axle c hole. Now there's not a stock clod part on my "Clod". Last on the list is my aluminum rod ends and I am ready for the nats. I also threw in a rc4wd flat axle stay to get the mamba's out of danger and it realy cleaned up the look of the truck.
