I know this is one of the most hated Tamiya kits, but also one of the most enjoyable to build at the same time. Grabbed one for a couple my RC buddies just to build and for us to run around in the snow. And at this current price it's hard to pass up!! If anyone if interested in a fun model kit build check this one out!

I posted this weeks ago in this thread: Black Friday / Cyber Monday 2024 RC Sales

Tamiya is having a Black Friday sale on a bunch of kits here: Black Friday Holiday Sale 2024!

I'd argue one of the CC-01 kits is a better option for a newbie to get into scale crawling. I've seen @OSRC build some incredibly capbable rigs with that chassis.

$129
$149

For sure....and can be a lot of fun in making something capable out of some of these wacky Tamiya kits.

There's nothing more fun than building a Tamiya kit! And definitely a great way to introduce friends to building RCs!

If I lived in the U.P. I'd get one of the land cruisers with tracks. Isn't there always snow up there?

I considered it, but already bought other wacky Tamiya kits and just don't feel like I'd get it out in the snow enough to justify the tracks.

I picked up the CC01 kit last month only because it's one of the few IFS crawler chassis out there. I fully intend to put some work into the project when I get around to it.

It does lend itself to the U.P. that's for sure!! And fun to take out and mess around with while ice fishing! haha

Definitely snow up here, but not the multiple feet I'm used to around this time of year. We get 22 feet of snow on average! Winter Wonderland

21/22 was a big season:

I used to love snow. I loved playing it as a kid and getting days off from school. Then as a teenager and early 20's riding 4 wheelers on the un-plowed streets and sometimes riding snowmobiles. Now as an adult, it is a nuisance. We don't get much accumulation. Usually just an annoyance that makes commuting to work slow and sometimes difficult. Idiots love to drive like it's black ice and accidents happen everywhere. And then there's the shoveling...that's the worst part for an old heart transplant patient! Meteorologists love to hype up storms around here. They gotta help sell bread, milk and water, right? But usually, we get let down with rain or less than an inch of snow. They are hyping a storm right now and I'm getting excited hoping we get a significant amount so I can work from home Monday. Even then, I still gotta help shovel my girlfriend's driveway and clean off my truck.

Few idiots up this way as it takes a certain type of person to want to deal with all this snow and live in a remote area. Closest thing to Alaska in the lower 48 IMO. It's empty up here and isolated
Also feels like America in some ways about 50-60 years ago where u see more European descendance...Sweeden/Finland/German is abundant up this way. Some Italian as well
A heated tractor in a heated garage with a blower attachment makes snow less of an issue these days...when i was younger i lived for braving the elements to move snow with a snowblower or shovel, now it would just take too much of my limited daylight to do all that. Soon i'm hoping for a decent R/C type snowblower to be released in this area with GPS so i can just push a button to plow:)
