No clutch and no replaceable batteries is a no from me. Tons of electric screwdriver options at $25.I have bought this for $25, a while back since my other driver died. Keeps your hands/forearm from getting tired, and is not strong enough to strip in plastic. Only single speed, no clutch, and no directional switch. Perferct for R/C
Trucks of Fortune is very cool given that almost anything you get from VP is actually cool and well developed. The exclusive goodies are absolutely worth it, you get more value over the price you pay and you can catch some of the exclusive colors. I also like the fact that they give you all the stuff that works with the rig they send you rather than some random items. The only downfall this time for me is that I already have the rigs i like out of their line up on my collection and the exclusives are not cool enough to make my wallet wiggle, so I will skip on them this time around... special colors are holiday red and green, the usual light blue, purple exclusives.Vanquish is currently doing a livestream on YouTube and they are going to announce a Trucks of Fortune if you are into that kind of thing. One of the color options is an ugly AF green. They h ave some cool VRD Carbon rails with special carbon, but the green parts, alone, are enough to keep me away.
All well and good unless you get stuck with fugly colors that almost nobody wants.Trucks of Fortune is very cool given that almost anything you get from VP is actually cool and well developed. This is why I don't do the Fortunes. Good for the company to use this method to profit off of less desirable items/colors though. All well and good unless you get stuck with fugly colors that almost nobody wants.
I think this gimmick stuff like Trucks of Fortune, random liveries in the H10 Optic, etc are kind of making Vanquish a gimmicky company. It is a luxury they have as a smaller company, but I don't necessarily respect the image it creates. This is why I don't do the Fortunes. Do you realize that paint is nothing like anodizing? It's not even a good substitute for powder coat. Spray painting over anodized aluminum is some hilljack shit.If it is truly a color dislike we all know Krylon Fusion works well… I'm sure it’s on sale somewhere too right now.
Agreed. I have become a Vanquish fanboy, but I don't need the gimmicks. It would have been nice if they matched the special colors to maybe the random colors with the H10, but the Optic isn't part of TOF. And the odds of getting a random H10 kit and random TOF items of the same color has to be pretty slim.I'm a VP fanboy but that Christmas green is awful. Should have done RCC green, and please go back to polishing parts before anodizing!
Agreed the Optic RTR should have been part of this, but definitely not the kit since those of us that preordered are still waiting. The Optic RTR should be a part of the TOF. Sounds like the slow boat with the kits hasnt arrived yet so they wont be in this.
The colors in this batch are not my favorite. Bright green would be cool but that dark green is meh. Orange diff covers were neat but sounds like they only had a few.
If I had not just bought an Optic kit, I may have bit on this, but my fleet is larger than it should be already. I dont want to deal with the hassle of selling and shipping stuff just for a chance to maybe get some limited edition wheels or axle housings. I would have definitely been onboard for some Wheels of Fortune though.
I do but not like any of my rigs are shelf queens, and have trail rash and likely many of yours do too.Do you realize that paint is nothing like anodizing? It's not even a good substitute for powder coat. Spray painting over anodized aluminum is some hilljack shit.
Yes, but paint comes off much easier than both anodizing and powder coat and looks like hell in no time.I do but not like any of my rigs are shelf queens, and have trail rash and likely many of yours do too.
Very cool. I've never tried to anodize. It has been a long time since I have done it but anodizing at home is super simple and most of us probably have the supplies already or are cheap and easily obtainable.
You also need an anode (a small strip of lead works) in the bath attached to one of the leads. The other lead attaches to the aluminum.12-18v power supply that can handle a few amps. some distilled water and battery acid, some aluminum wire and some dye color of choice. just need to beware anodizing grows into the aluminum, not on top of it, so you just need to take care not to try to 'cook' them too long as you'll start losing material.
