I have found scale crawling to be my new hobby. I have been racing and building large scale vehicles for a few years now. The smaller scale vehicles are a lot harder to build than I thought. There is an insane amount of talent on this and other crawler sites, and it has been inspirational! I am a fabricator by trade, I have built tons of race cars over the years, but I have never built anything 1:10 scale. I recently brought my scale Cherokee and my son's Dingo over to my dad's house for a family get together. My dad initially dismissed the idea of participating, and then he found himself intrigued as we were taking turns negotiating the small fountain in his backyard. He grabbed my son's DX3r and wouldn't give it back. We knew we had him hooked I didn’t know at the time that it would just result in more work for me <?xml:namespace prefix = v ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" /><v:shapetype id=_x0000_t75 stroked="f" filled="f" path="m@4@5l@4@11@9@11@9@5xe" oreferrelative="t" o:spt="75" coordsize="21600,21600"><v:stroke joinstyle="miter"></v:stroke><v:formulas><v:f eqn="if lineDrawn pixelLineWidth 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @0 1 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum 0 0 @1"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @2 1 2"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelWidth"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelHeight"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @0 0 1"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @6 1 2"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelWidth"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @8 21600 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelHeight"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @10 21600 0"></v:f></v:formulas><vath o:connecttype="rect" gradientshapeok="t" o:extrusionok="f"></vath><?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o:lock aspectratio="t" v:ext="edit"></o:lock></v:shapetype><v:shape id=_x0000_i1025 style="WIDTH: 11.25pt; HEIGHT: 11.25pt" alt="0" type="#_x0000_t75"><v:imagedata o:href="http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif" src="file:///C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\msohtml1\01\clip_image001.gif"></v:imagedata></v:shape>.<o></o>

I got a call from him the following week asking if I could help him assemble a parts list and a game plan for his entry into crawling. We had raced tamiya cars together in the mid 80's when I was a kid. Now me and my son are enjoying the hobby. Its funny to see all three generations of my family going at it. My son and my dad are always trash talking to each other, so this is going to be interesting.........
