Brokennib, I loved seeing footage of my favorite old skool cool G-Ride in action. The waterfall time bonus was spectacular and the vintage feel of the camera makes this a must view vid. Thank you.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I take it the new RECON web site is NOT : http://www.recon.com

That's an adventure of a alternative kind. If you want your scaler fix in a RECON G6, it's www.reconcrawlers.com "thumbsup"

For those drivers that were unable to make it to the G6 L.O.S.T., the recap is on the way.

R.E.C.O.N. G6 Challenge L.O.S.T. Legend of Snowshoe Thompson recap

The R.E.C.O.N. G6 Challenge™ L.O.S.T., Legend of Snowshoe Thompson reeked of pure adrenaline pumping adventure and I would be willing to bet that this G6 put a smile on old Snowshoes face. I can only hope that the videos and pictures of the G6 L.O.S.T. do it justice, because the following words will not, but here goes.

If you have ever had a dream where everything is so perfect that it doesn’t feel like a dream at all and when you wake up, you would swear that you just lived that dream? Well, welcome to my dream that I have still not woke up from, welcome to the RECON G6 Challenge™ L.O.S.T.

We arrived Friday afternoon to only one camping spot left in the campground. Several G6’ers were already set up and waiting for the adventure to begin and for most, the adventure started the moment they left their driveway. There was the Klien family that went over the pass using the road less traveled in their Dodge Nitro pulling a trailer. Then several others spent some time “touring” the Sierra Nevada’s which I tickled me, because the road dead ends into Lower Blue Lake. Hmmm, note to self, was putting L.O.S.T. in the title and drivers getting lost Snowshoe Thompson’s way of saying “thank you”.

Well, 41 drivers found the way to a location that is second to none. We were blessed with great weather and Mother Nature finally gave me a water source that beckoned to be driven by some of the best G6 Drivers in the country. Buckle up and light the lipos, its stage start time.

Stage 1 was 195 trail markers that marked a stage that has earned the best stage of the year. What? I know the year aint over with yet, but this stage had everything, loose climbs, water crossings, camper recoveries, and a section of single track that kept drivers eyes riveted to the river 12 feet below. For some, stage on was a once in a life time stage and with some of the actual drive times being over 2 hours long, they may want it to stay that way.

Stage 2 was my dream that I have not woke up from yet. Huge waterfalls set the stage, pun intended, for the first ever time bonus that took drivers up a scale waterfall with G-Ride sucking currents if a driver was off line to the butt puckering horsepower hills that had Formula Off Road drivers shaking in their 5 point harnesses, Stage 2 made men out of boys and women out girls.

Stage 3 had wood and lots of it. In fact, one section took drivers through an old trash pile that could have very well been one of Snowshoe Thompsons campsites. Stage 3 had a wrist rocket driver’s challenge for a time bonus. Most drivers earned this time bonus, while others fed the bears.

I would like to thank everyone that showed up and accepted the challenge of the RECON G6 Challenge™ L.O.S.T. This G6 paid homage to a man that became a legend and every driver that started is a legend in my mind and you will be forever!

The only thing more amazing to me than the scenery of the G6 L.O.S.T. was the G6’ers. Dorothy and Denis Stier, an amazing couple that went into the unknown of the Sierra Nevada as G6 virgins and finished their adventure as G6 veterans with smiles a mile wide! Then there was the Klien Family, Dad, Mom, brother, and sister doing work in a RECON G6. More on this amazing family to come, but for now rest assured, they are a G6 family who Snowshoe Thompson would not have to rescue.

I would like to thank our sponsors Axial Racing, Vanquish Products, and Pit Bull Tires. Special thanks to BPC for chassis’s, bead lock rings, and battery trays, PLE for some of the trickest d-rings I’ve ever seen or used, and the Silent Stage Ninja, Glen Samonte for the snowboard and shirts. All this awesome swag was handed out as finishing prizes. Scavenger Hunt prizes were compliments of Axial Racing.

Rock Armor awarded John Halman with one of their front bumpers. If you have not seen these bumpers, check them out, they are G6 certified and damn near bullet proof.

A huge THANK YOU to the G-Crew who worked their tails off, I could not be more proud of each and every one of you.

Remember, when you need your scaler fix, come get it in a RECON G6!

-Parker

An Honorable Mention to the 2.2 Wraith Drivers that found out what adventure meant and how an Axial Wraith could handle that adventure, Dan Wilson, Joe Donnel, Ja Lo, and Breanne Klien in her G6 certified Wraith.

Special note: Dan Wilson and his stage stompin' Axial Wraith netted the quickest overall time and is the true defintiion of the G6 spirit. Great job, Dan, you can drive a 4x4 doll house!

Its sort of hard to choose a favorite G6 but I have to say RECON G6 CHALLENGE L.O.S.T. has to be in my top 3!!! This location is amazing, it had everything a G6'er could want!

I really want to thank John Halman for letting me drive his AXIAL HONCHO on stage 2, that little truck handles like a dream! And I must thank Parker for giving me a furlough from G-Central, its been a long time since I've driven a stage and I REALLY needed it!!!

It was a great time and I can't wait till October 15 for "HAUNTED ROCK PARK"!!!

Yup, I have dunked several and blow dry and go! Clear dirt is always fun in moderation. "thumbsup"

Those are SICK! I wish we were still there. It is hard to put into pics or words the magnitude of water flow and elevation drop / gain that was going on in that little clearing.
