Well here we go. My goal for this project is to convert a mostly stock SCX Honcho into a Armored vehicle. This is going to be a slow build so please be patient. My inspiration for this build comes from the Mercedes LAPV and the MNU Hilux from District 9.

Parts/to-do list
-Stock Axial trans and Axles
-3racing winch
-Dx3e/sr300
-turnigy 1300mAh 25c 2s lipos (I have 6 so I could run all day)
-Integy 55T Lathe motor
-Traxxas waterproof xl5 w/low voltage
-Well broke in flatirons on stock 8 shooters
-New body is a Tamiya Pajero
-Body will get lights all around and exo-cage
-Shorten frame in rear and shorten wheelbase in the rear
-Add styrene armor plating to Pajero exterior
-Emphasis armor on doors, hood, roof, and windows
-Exo-cage will be made of 3/16 brake line
-Hopeful to use a wraith interior and seats
-Not 100% sure on color but it will be matte (open to suggestions)

A few Pics of Inspiration-

Along with that last update here are pics of the parts/work I have done so far.
That Last Picture is of a CAD Drawing I did last fall, it is of a Speedway Pal Samurai on 1.9 wheels. I want to do a similar look with the exo-cage on this build.

I have another update! Bumpers have been removed, and some test fit shots have been taken. (Sorry for the dark pics)

first one of the truck w/o the body.

I used black sewing thread to cut bumpers off.

Then I took a few shots with the body on the chassis for a rough fit.

More Updates... Rear fenders have been given "Comp"lementary treatment. The fronts will follow with similar cut angle to the same body line...

Here are the pics...

Thanks again and let me know what you guys think... I'm open to opinions and suggestions"thumbsup"

where's the bed part of the truck design?

As for the truck bed, you will see where the Inspiration will show later in the build. I'm using the Merc and the MNU as inspiration in the sense that they are armored, not that they are trucks. But you bring up an interesting idea. Maybe I'll do another Pajero that will have a truck bed.
Thanks again for the input.

More Updates... Got some progress done tonight: Front fenders cut and links measured and mocked up.

Enough talk, here are the pics...

Front Fenders cut...

Rear links shortened...

Front and Rear links shortened...

I'm actually leaning more towards not shortening the links or only doing the rears.
I want to know what you guys think.

Thanks always and enjoy"thumbsup"

Okay, I have a Few minor updates...

Temporary links are made:
4-40 All-thread and electrical tape.:ror:

The final links will be the original ones with 1/4" cut off and re-tapped.

I messed around in Paint.net and came up with this lowed version...
It would involve cutting about 1/2" off the bottoms of the doors and 1/2"-3/4" of the rear tailgate. Let me know what you think.

Great lookin' project... "thumbsup" Looking forward to seeing more updates
This is a sweet rig.
Thanks for all your support.

Keep em shortened and just lower the ride height, it'll give it a really mean stance.
What he said. The length is perfect where it is, just lower it.

I agree now that I messed with a few images in Paint.
Thanks for your opinions and critiques.

What's the wb?
I measured the wheelbase to be 11.4". So about the same as a TR Dingo.

Thanks everybody, More updates coming"thumbsup"
