Pro-Line 1985 Toyota HiLux SR5 2-Piece Body for 12.3"

Pro-Line 1985 Toyota HiLux SR5 2-Piece Body for 12.3"

There a lot of great bodies here, glad I found the thread.

I put the sr5 cab on a bomber. Twice:

It's getting cut up and tested on this easier battery access thing:

I should mention the body flips up on the original hood hinge for battery access. So gotta unscrew two screws on the side.

Seems like a hit or miss can anyone calrify if this body comes with window stickers not masking decals ? Bought mine a while ago and it didn't have any so thought it was weird.

No there is masking when you paint it but not window trim stickers.. if that's what you mean. I used some leftover 3m vinyl I had and cut strips for trim.

Nothing special. Used bedliner in the bed. Cut out the stickers and used transfer tape for the to use the brown stickers as a mask.

I used a TF2 steel roll bar for mine. Only had to add two 10mm spacers to the fenderwells in the bed.

Pretty cool, but I'm not sure that's the look I want.

I'll probably want to mount lights on it.

Here's mine with a FreqEsKinz wrap.

I just finished up my Body, I've added some Knight Customs light buckets, grill and roll bar.
I'm happy with the results although I'm still working on some tire rub (Hyrax 1.9s) but i guess its only fitting to have some rub on an old lifted Toyota with big tires.

Someone mentioned earlier in this thread that there were no Toyota stickers included but I got Toyota stickers in my kit, maybe this changed at some point. EDIT: now that I look at it there isn't a sticker for the rear

Nice looking rig! I’m looking at doing a similar color. What paint did you use? I can’t seem to find a Tamiya PS color that looks like the Toyota quicksand.

Wow blast from the past. That body has been repainted 3 times since that Pic, and Is now on the shelf. But anyway. The paint I used for that was rustoleum Camo paint for plastics. Yes there is a high chance it will flake off. I recommend lightly sanding the body to scuff it up before painting.

Thanks! I was thinking about that as an option. Appreciate the info.

Here’s my pile I’ve been working on. Still got a few more things to do.

What color paint is this??

Hey that’s mine. That was paint on the outside and I used krylon paint from Home Depot. I used lexan paint first and then covered it with the beige. I’ll have to find the can to get the name. I also did a black and wash to get it a bit dirty.
