I just found this awesome thread. There are some sweet rigs in here. I built a trailer for my spartan while it was broke for 3 months earlier this year.

And one with my new summit.

Now that winter I here I am wanting to build a pretty large enclosed trailer to put my 2 slash 4x4 ultimates in.
I am debating making the trailer really long and the slash's will be front to back or like a double decker hauler. I am leaning more towards the long trailer since I believe it will look better and more scale behind the summit. I am also hoping to make the axles for the enclosed trailer with leaf springs so that it functions like a real trailer. Also wanting to put running lights and tail lights in as well.
Its going to be made from steel and welded together which will be HEAVY but considering the summit is a monster I think it will be a blast. Will update with the enclosed trailer build when it starts in a couple weeks. Great thread!!!!!!!

Thanks, Bryan

Looks good, man I want a spartan so bad!!!

How do you like it?

Nice trailer and rigs! This is exactly what I want to do with my scaler, but towing a Wraith! What do you do with your tow rig and trailer while your using the rig on the trailer?

I usually only use it for long hauls from the car to the crawl spot or at home, especially under the house. I'll have the kid load up tools and I'll drive them over to me.

I loved it. It was my first Boat and it was a blast. I got one of the first releases that had all the problems with overheating and frying the motor and esc which is why is was broke for 3 months while everything was on back order. But once I received the updated electronics the boat was amazing. Insanely fast. I actually just sold it about 3 weeks ago. Wanted more land vehicles. And I sold the trailer alone for $175. Which for being hand built was pretty dang good I thought. Lol.

love this thread!

just got my first scaler (scx10 based rig) and was thinking of picking up one of the trailer ready single axle trailers. for all of you who are into making these how much do you think one would run? i've been checking the classified and i don't see any on the market.

Posted my trailer here a long time ago and figured i'd put up some recent pics"thumbsup"

This trailer was built from scrap pieces, Bruiser leafs, some links and a few $2.00 parts from wallyworld lol. Hope you guy's like it.

not nearly as cool as some of the others on here, but here's my trailer

cost me $7 for the axles. the rest I had laying in the basement

i got my ramps started and about half done today.. only worked on it on and off for about 3 hrs.. made them out of 1/4" solid rod and expanded metal i brazed them together because didnt wanna wait for the MIG welder cuz dad was using it a lot today...:ror: i will get pics tomorrow..

finished up a set of ramps and was downstairs in the house testing them out.. hooked up the honcho to the trailer.. my first brazing project and it went pretty good. its nice having the torch because dad was using the MIG welder alot yesterday and i wanted to weld up some ramps.. they arent attached yet but they will fold up too.. they are 7" long and made from 1/4" solid rod and expanded metal.

How are people doing the axles on the trailers. I am fixing to start on one and the axles is the only thing I am having issues figureing out. I want something simple and cheap but I would like for it to hold up and last.

the cheapest, easiest way I found is 1/4" threaded rod from the local hardware store. just use a nut on both sides of the wheel. u can get axles and bearings thru the hobby store, but then u need a long list of parts.
I made mine stay ridged thru 2 pieces of scrap aluminum I screwed to the frame of the trailer. u can use brass tube and leaf springs with the rod running thru it for a more scale look

If you would or can please post some pics on here or on the thread I started that is going to be my trailer build thread. I was trying to figure up a way to run bearings is my main issue I guess. I am gonna try to get started on it this week if I can find the rest of what I need to start on it tomorrow. Here is a link to the thread I started for mine.

It tows very well and the losi wheels give it a nice ride. It also has about 1/4 inch of travel in the front axle .
