Futaba T2PH Compatibility

Hey y'all, I've got a question. I've got a bunch of old Futaba T2PH radios but no receivers for 'em. Anybody have any idea what receivers I could use with them? I've looked around at a couple but they're like $40 and for that price I might as well buy a Flysky GT3B instead. Just thought I'd see if I could get some use out of em since they all work fine. Any chance there are some on the cheaper side?

Futaba has a receiver compatibility chart but the T2PH isn't listed. That's an old AM radio.

I feel like by the time you track down whatever compatible receivers and crystals, you'd be better off with something newer and more technologically advanced. Especially if you only need one radio/ multiple receivers.

I've got a couple R123F receivers and some old crystals that I'd ship to you but I really think you'd do better to pick up a $30-$40 tx and however many receivers. Not sure if the R113F even works with the T2PH.

Alright. I kinda figured, just thought I'd check and see if there were any newer receivers I could pick up for cheap just in case. I might just throw em up on ebay or somethin, I've got like 4 or 5 of them and they all work fine.

No doubt there are receivers out there that would pair with that transmitter but unless it's a rx that's still being manufactured, it might just add to the frustration. Crystals aren't exactly readily available anymore either. Without ebay, all that obsolete stuff would probably be nonexistent. And metal telescoping antennas... ugh.

It's funny b/c I'm holding on to my old Futaba crystals, receivers and PEKA/ PCKA radios ( AM and FM) and I know that they're just taking up space... Dunno why it's hard to get rid of this stuff lol ( sentimental value maybe?).

If you do get a new radio get the GT3C instead of the B. It’s just better all around. I would suggest a GT5 or 7 though. The GT3’s are great radios but they are very basic unless you hack them and I don’t know how available those parts are. I have a 3C and I really like it but I only have one SCX24 so I don’t need a lot of channels and such.

Alrighty, I'll take a look at it. I was just generally looking for a cheap rx/tx that would last for a while, as I have 3 or 4 trucks that don't have any. I've got a GT5 for my SCX3 and it's great, though I don't need that many channels for the trucks that I'm getting these for. Thanks for the advice though, I'll look into that.

If you already have a GT5 why not just use that?
Am I able to pair a 3ch rx with it? I wasn't really sure if I could or not, and I kinda need to have separate radios for these trucks in particular because they're going to be used by multiple people at the same time.

There are smaller sized four channel receivers for the GT5 but if you want to be able to run multiple trucks at a time then it makes sense to get another radio.
I would say get a GT5 or 7, I saw brand new 7’s for twenty or thirty bucks on the bay. GT5’s were cheaper than the three’s too.
Don’t get me wrong, I really like the three. I got a three because I won’t have more than two or three trucks and I won’t need more than a few channels. I don’t plan on hacking mine, I just wanted something better than stock and I liked how the three looked, lol.

Oh dang, they're really that cheap on ebay? In that case I'll definitely be getting one of those two instead. The main reason I was looking at the GT3B was because it's like $35 on amazon. I didn't know the GT5 went for that cheap, wish I'd have known sooner lol. Paid like $60 for mine new.

For sure, probably ninety five percent of the reason I went with the GT3C was because I liked the way it looked. My biggest want was just to be able to set end points digitally so I went with looks. lol

If you need a separate radio, check out the Dumbo RC X4 or X6. The radios feel pretty cheap but the signal reliability is solid and you can get a whole radio and receiver for $35 or less. It is definitely the kind of radio you don't feel nervous handing over to a kid or a new to RC guy.

They are also available rebranded from Injora, Surpass, and others. I think I paid $28 for the Surpass version a few months ago.

Alrighty. I'll look into those, sounds like they might be a good deal. I appreciate the recommendation, thanks!

Did you ever get a radio? Meus has a new radio that looks amazing for the price.

I've not gotten one just yet. That one looks really good though, I might save that for another build.
