Pics of your latest purchase

Firma system yes great if you want slow speed control but if you want wheel speed I'd go with the HW 1800 or 2300.
Has anyone tried it in a 2 speed equipped truck? I gave my 2 speed truck away.
Gula what KTM is that you are hiding?

Cul8tr, that (was) a 2010 KTM 990 SMR, bought brand new with 14 miles in 2012 when I returned from Afghanistan. I owned for 3 yrs and sold in 2015 (real old pic) It was a MONSTER !!!!!

I have the 2300 Firma in my TRX4 and I love it. At the moment though it's straight axled and still stock spur but also 1.55 wheel setup. The slowest crawl is not very smooth which was somewhat expected. But it's very fast and fun! I will swap in the 1400kv version though and swap to the Sport spur. Should be back to normal then.

Gula 3 weeks ago I walked away from a 2015 1290 Super Duke for $6700. I wish I had time to ride. If I did it would be here. Monster right it would get me in trouble. At 59 I don't need that bike. Lol!
Thank you for your service!

Goro if that system were on sale I'd get it and try it out. Heck I may just get it anyway. I really do like the 2 in 1 systems and I have been running them mostly but I did put the Castle 3800kv system in a VS410 builders kit. Love it!

This transmission has been working pretty well. Got it last week, now between the new transmission and the new motor/esc it’s time for some metal drive shafts, lol

Here is the motor/esc that blew my transmission up, lol. Got it a week before the MR24.

You're welcome, and thanks for your support!
Now, that's a BIKE! Maybe you, not getting it was a good thing! ya, I had a good 2k in go fast mods in mine and downright copied a Australian gentleman who dynoed his @ 130~ whp running 96octane iirc. Had my laptop hooked up to tune it, and all.......blah, blah, blah, i think there was a thread in rcc somewhere with it.

Anyways, funny thing is, I sold that bike the day of, or the day after returning from that camping trip where I lost the 1/6 hoods on the way home. lol

Also i found these cool wheels that will

go great on my 1.9 paddle tires for my "beach setup" , that and I had to use that $5 coupon for another set of 2.2s Screenshot_20241108_104519_AliExpress.jpg
because, you know, $5 coupon!

This beast of a bike

Is a Specialized Enduro Evo. 180mm rear with a Ohlins shock . 160mm front with a Marzocchi 350 ...It came from a friend. Was a deal I didn't want to lose .

I went from a crappy bike to this and is above my skill level but I'm improving. Gives extra confidence on descents

Nice! "Sounds" like performance! lol, I'm not at all bike literate, so numbers don't mean much to me, in that sense. I had a 2000 Cannondale SuperV500 iirc, way back, and now have a simple Gt Trance from 2004 or so i picked up from a co-worker.

I'd love to do a 1x cassette or internal hub gearbox and just get a hard tail!

Hardtails are a lot of fun. I've always had hardtails but know I can keep up with my buddies and not be "on the edge" on descents. It is a bit heavier than my previous bike but climbs pretty well and it has a dropper post to lower the seat on the downhill and rise it when there's a need to pedal again. My RC buddies always asked how I found the cool spots. Scouting the mountain on the MTB is the answer. I dread the "ran near the parked car"

I've been on the verge of pulling the trigger on an emtb several times recently. Eventually I'll do it and get myself back on the trail. I haven't ridden offroad since my last back surgery in 2021.

I've been busy collecting parts for a new 1:1 buggy build recently. Getting close to having the core parts together so my buddy can start the chassis. Here's the last week's worth of purchases and build progress. For anyone who thinks rc crawlers are expensive, scale up the bills for a big one. 😆

Matching 3rd member for the rear axle (drove 8hrs round trip Saturday for this)

Winch for the buggy. My buddy found this being used on a log splitter and was able to make the deal for me. It'll get a nice cleanup

And the motor I picked up Sunday (Chevy 3.9 v6)

That is really an axle made partly from piping huh? Why? To get the width or just to strengthen the housing?

I think most of us stick to small scale crawlers not only for the price, but because working on full-size stuff is a royal PITA. I'm over lying on cold cement floors to work on cars and trucks. Although I am currently set on buying a sixth gen Mustang so maybe one day...

It's a fully custom axle. The center section of the housing is from an eaton ho72 rear axle. This specific axle was never offered as a front axle. The "pipe" is 3.5"x.375" wall dom tube, which also makes it easier to seal the housing. I've got a full truss that'll be added before it's done. Using Ford superduty axle shafts and steering. It'll be strong, light (relative to others with similar strength), and generally cool. Been planning on building this axle for several years now.

Oh yeah! Can I get a WOOOOOT?

I got the hardware kit and the ten degree skid too. Kinda bummed I didn’t get a link set but oh well, I’ll get those when they are back in stock.

Welp, RC and RC mods budget is blown for a while. Time for some house mods!

Can't recall if I grumbled in this thread previously, or another on here. So long CA. Sick of the ridiculous... Well everything here.
Where, what, more info, peeps want to know rhese things

Where, what, more info, peeps want to know rhese things
About 15m west of Idaho, in Washington. 2,635 sqft 5/3 on a 7,400 sqft lot.

Buying now, target date of move-in will be about a year from now.
Gonna milk the slightly** higher pay here in CA for a year more, and do some remodeling on the house:
  • Knocking out a wall between the Master and another bedroom. Will also wall off the extra un-needed doorway.
  • All the carpet on the main floor and basement is being replaced with LVP. Will most likely do the stairs as well.
  • I'll be running Cat 6 network cable everywhere
    • 2 drops in living room
    • 1 drop in each bedroom
    • 2 WiFi access points (maybe a 3rd AP if the Garage needs stronger coverage)
    • 1 from the Utility room to Office (will support a 8 port switch for the two bedrooms and gaming lounge and the 1 AP downstairs)
    • 6 - 4K Cameras all PoE (Power over Ethernet)
    • Doorbell Cam w/ remote chime all PoE
  • Going to re-sheet rock the Office with Quiet-rock and install acoustic panels on the walls
  • Epoxy coat garage floor, and install steel frame shelving (https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-Bol...t-77-in-W-x-24-in-D-x-72-in-H-Blue/5014702861)
  • I'll need to upgrade my current Network and Server Rack from what it is now, to a larger unit
    • Which will get another UPS to support the now larger network
    • And move all of the gear on-top into the cabinet
  • Years on in:
    • Wife signed off on a Rock Garden in the backyard. Crawler course here we come!
    • Backyard deck, BBQ and fire pit
    • Need to replace some of the LP wall sheeting on the exterior, might say F it and re-sheet the entire south and east walls, plus repaint
    • Re-landscape front and rear with artificial turf, gut the sprinkler system and convert to drip irrigation for plants instead
** Pay: I'm going to get about a 10-13% pay cut when I move. Considering my Tax Rate in CA for State income tax is 9.3% and WA has no state
income tax, I'll net a .7-3.7% loss there, but cost of living. I'll be going from about $4150-4450 (Rent, Insurance, Utils, etc) per month to live where I'm at now, to about $2000-2400 (Mortgage, Insurance, Utils, etc) a month in WA which will be damn near a 50% cut in cost of living for major expenses.
