Optic Kit Coming

The Optic is super fun. Definitely my favorite rig these days.
Not too many Dad's were overly engaged back in the day. Outside of sports my old man couldn't have cared much less about my interests.
Sharp metal is a memorable lesson. Broken glass is up there too.

I hope it happens. I haven't heard anything else mentioned about it. I think perhaps Greg either accidentally leaked some privileged info or he is telling stories...haha
I reached out to VP and let them know I have money in hand anxiously awaiting the newly announced H10 Optic kit. I'm sure they are thrilled with that, but whatever, I'm totally going to get one. Ordered another VRD just to keep me must for the time being.

:D

I am listening to their live stream hoping they might address the leak, but nothing even being mentioned in the chat 😃 it's amazing how tight lipped they are over there
I will likely pick up a kit as well. I requested it enough times so I should likely put my money where my mouth is...

Interesting, i just went back and watched again. He obvuously went back and edited the video. There is a rough cut after he shows the Falken Phoenix. Originally he took video of the Optic and spoke about the coming kit and how each kit would contain a random colored set of body panels. Said the purchaser would not know the color of included panels until opening the box. He cut that entire section out.
There wasn't an actual kit sitting on the table, just the buggy itself. I assumed he knew what he was sharing from a conversation.
As I said earlier. I think either the VP guys were bullshitting him or he leaked privileged information. Either way he still went back and cut away the entire piece about the Optic.
I was wondering about that. I watched the vid, but didn't hear him say anything about a kit. I didn't catch that he had cut out a section.

My fingers are still crossed that a kit will be in our future. I mean, VP has to give us something for the Black Friday season! Right??;)

Josh over at VP seems to pride himself on not leaking info prior to new releases. They have been really tight lipped on Greg's slip up. I imagine they would rather not talk about it until they are ready to release it. It seems to be their MO.
I am saving up my coins for it!

Yes, I see how pissed he (Josh) gets when Brandon or one of the guys lets secrets out.
Coin savings going on here too!

I saw it get brought up in the chat on the livestream yesterday, but I did not hear them acknowledge it in the video.

A portal 4 wheel steer kit would be awesome, but straight axle 4 wheel steer would be acceptable too.

Not H10 necessarily related but not far off what they have awaiting but I saw the end of the VP live yesterday and IIRC Jim (their Machinist) mentioned the Ripper 2 project perhaps being able to go out end of year or into 25 .. perhaps is an H10/Ripper 2 like kit they are preparing.

Interesting thought that the Ripper 2 could be an aluminum H10. I'm more interested in the H10 plastic kit. When the Ripper came out, it was $1,899. With inflation and that Chinese tariffs, it's probably going to be more like $3,000 this time around. And that's IF you can get one. The Ripper 1 was a great investment though...

from the little info they have mentioned in the live streams is looking to be more on par of the +3500 range. Id pick up a groom like yours and have more fun with it at that point. Sheessss..

Yeah too rich for my blood, but if you want to buy it and hold onto it for a few years, you'll probably double your money. Groms don't increase in value, but they do retain it fairly well.

Imagine if someone told you in 2014 that Vanquish would make a glorified body for the SCX10 that costs nearly $2K and it would be a smart purchase. Now imagine all of those wild ass claims actually being right.

It is still kind of insane the entire Ripper thing ever happened.

So true

Yup, I asked once in there but they didn't address the question. I can imagine they were instructed to ignore such inquiries

I had one in my cart a few times but always backed out. Figured they'd be like most other RCs out there and drop 50% in value the minute you open it. The price on them has really shot up over the past couple years though. I might buy a 2.0. I'm hoping that it isnt just an aluminum H10.

The ripper was not a complete vehicle. Basically a cage and panels and some other bits to convert an scx10. No axles, trans, etc. It won't surprise me if this full v2 kit with all those parts included pushes $5k.

I can't imaging they would just make an aluminum optic cage.

Or it could be like all those baseball cards from the 80s. Should have sold them in the 80s.

I believe you all just experienced a media embargo. Bike industry does this all the time. They get people to sign an NDA, show them new stuff and tell them they can't talk about it until a certain date. Tradeshow are often like that and dealers don't want to tell you about the new stuff because then they won't buy the stuff you have sitting on the shelf.

If you break the deal you don't get invited next time. Or the free product to test when it's released.

Also, deny, deny, deny when you f-up.

I have a pretty cool collection of comic books from my childhood that have no real value. Recently in a fruit and veggie market an owner had covered all the walls above his product with comic books from his collection. Looked great, a total time machine.

I hope they ate kind to Greg. It was a minor slip up at worst.
