only cut tires. post up your cut tire photos

Thinned the stock tires of my maverick scout (hsp pangolin, redcat everest etc..) by removing a strip off the center.

The same happened to the stock beadlocks to make the tires fit better and get a somewhat more rounded profile.

Cut my first set of tires! Cut out some lugs from the Vaterra Twin Hammer stock tires (Race Claws). Have not had a chance to test, but will be getting some trails this upcoming weekend. usually run a set of Proline FlatIron 2.2 non XLs.

Probably the wrong spot to ask but with all these custom and insanely good looking tires, has anyone done a 6.5-6.75 tire on regular 2.2's say from a 3.8 tire?

It's been done, but it's not the best performing. 3.8" size rc wheels and the cars that use them are heavier and the tire carcass requirements are different. In general, large scale means thicker and firmer rubber compounds. That is why so many 2.2 comp crawlers will cut n shut 1.9 tires into larger sizes. The 1.9 tire carcass is thin and more pliable. Perfect for 3-5 pound 2.2 comp crawlers.

Did you have to remove any inner material to get the CWR-3005 to fit on a 2.2” wheel?

Would this work with your 2.2 wheels ya think? If so 1” or 1.5”

Yes, on the 1" wheels; P/N: CWR-5003; that would duplicate the look on the 1" width 2.2 VP bead locks pictured.

The 1.50" width 6 Bolt Wheel; P/N: CWR-5004, is as wide as the Pro-Line tire, and it would need P/N: CWR-3015 tuning discs on the side of the inner to add width to fill the tire laterally.

Preparing the tires for my super
This is my first time I cut and shut tires so I decided to use some cheap tires I found on Alibaba that will allow me to learn how to do so and test the rig.
I am very happy with the results :ror:
Then latter will make comp ones with other kind of tires.

I went ahead and cut my Pitbull Growlers. They turned out pretty good.

Tested them vs my Hyrax both tires did really good on the rocks. Not sure which one is better. Here's a video I shot on how to cut them and the test vs the Hyrax.
