The goal of this event is to bring SCALE rigs. This is not a USRCCA pro comp. Please keep that in mind.

The 1.9 scale class will be limited to all 1.9" rim sized rigs.

- This class is for the typical street legal rigs, that you run off road. aka a daily driver / weekend wheeler, something you would drive to and from the trail.
- You may cut down and modify a 2.2 tire to fit a 1.9 rim, you will get a point penalty for this , *see below*
- All OEM 1.9" tires are legal, any modified tire can be no larger than 4.4"
- Track width can be NO more than 9.5" in the 1.9 class
- Flywheels brand wheels, CAC 2.0 wheels, 1/18 scale Nylint brand wheels and tires will be allowed.
- You must run a complete body, including bumpers, fenders, doors & tailgates. Some fender trimming is allowed but the basic shape must be retained.
- A shortened or lengthened body is allowable. A tubed bed must have a Functional bed area capable of carrying a full-size spare laid flat (rear fender and tailgate rules do not apply to tubed beds).
- No 4 wheel steer or rear steer at all ! If you have more than 2 axles, the FRONT axles are the ONLY ones that can steer.
- No " DIG " of any kind is allowed.
- Wheelbase is limited only by your body, and must fit in your fender wells.
- Vehicle must have a frame-railed chassis. Tubed frame rails are ok.
- Vehicle battery must be mounted on the chassis. You CANNOT mount the battery above the steering servo/axle/upper links. The goal is to place the battery where it is not visible for a more scale appearance.
- Vehicle must run a full approved body. Fenders may be cut, but it must resemble a 1:1 rig you'd see on the street. "Iffy" Vehicles must be approved by the Scale Nationals Committee members.
- You may add weight to your wheels, but you are only allowed a maximum of 12 TOTAL oz's. You can put it in whichever wheels you want, but 12 oz is the total.
If you feel your rig is borderline, be prepared to modify it if it does not pass tech inspection. AND/ OR bring a BACKUP rig just incase.

The 2.2 scale class will be limited to 2.2" rim sized rigs.

- This class is for the typical trail rigs, that you have modified quite a bit for off road. You would most likely " TRAILER " these to the trailhead.
- All 2.2" OEM tires are legal, any modified tire may only be 5.2" tall
- Track width can be NO more than 10.5" in the 2.2 class
- You must run a complete body, bumpers, including fenders, doors & tailgates. Some fender trimming is allowed but the basic shape must be retained.
- A shortened or lengthened body is allowable. A tubed bed must have a Functional bed area capable of carrying a full-size spare laid flat (rear fender and tailgate rules to not apply to tubed beds).
- No 4 wheel steer or rear steer at all! if you have more than 2 axles, the FRONT axles are the ONLY ones that can steer.
"Iffy" Vehicles must be approved by the Scale National Committee members.

" TUBERS " If you plan to run a tuber in EITHER class, here is what you need to know. It must have a full interior, 2 front seats SIDE BY SIDE, a dash, a steering wheel, a hood panel, a roof panel and a left and right side panel. If it is a jeep, it needs to resemble a jeep. The minimum size for the tubers is as follows:

Height 5 " , measured from bottom of skid pan to the roof top
Width 5 " , measured from the middle of the door bars, side to side
length 14" , this does NOT include bumpers or stingers, just the chassis

NOTE: this does not apply if you have a truggy or back halfed truck with a conventional frame and cab.

BOTH CLASSES, NO COMP OR TVP CHASSIS, NO FRAME EXTENSIONS TO MAKE IT SCALE EITHER, PERIOD, THIS IS A SCALE EVENT GUYS.

There will points deducted for these scale items, these will happen at tech inspection and be deducted from your final TOTAL score at the end of the day. " Max deduct points per rig is 25 "

1. Hard body -5
2. Leaf sprung, 1 axle -2, both axles -5

- Tires can be NO taller than 4" and no wider than 1.75" in the 1.9 class
Do you realize you just made the most scale looking tire illegal to run? The 1.9 Rock Crushers are 4.25" tall.

Also, it would be cool to see bonus points awarded to people running unmodified 1.9" tires, or penalties for those who run modified 1.9's (2.2's cut down to 1.9's). That would discourage the use of running a competition compound tire in a scale class making the class on more of an even playing field and more scale IMO.

Well Shit, Guess its back to the BFG's for me:lol:

In the dirt and wet most "comp" tires don't really perform any better than a RC4WD

The 2.2 scale class will be limited to 2.2" rim sized rigs.

- Track width can be NO more than 10" in the 2.2 class
Guido with TLT axles, CVD's and wide hexes is wider than 10". How strict is this? I caint narrow Guido or he wont turn at all.

..
- Track width can be NO more than 9" in the 1.9 class
I'm assuming that my non-street legal 1.9 will need to be pre-approved and hopefully will be acceptable.
I'm not sure about the 9" wide though, again how strict will this be? My truggy will not look right if it's that narrow I think.
Of course I'm not sure either cuz I ain't built it yet.:lol:

Believe that Ben said the RC4WD tires would be legal... I think he forgot to change the wording though.

 Have you run RC4WD tires? I disagree with that. ;-)
yes, some comp tires clean out a bit better than the rc4wd but the compound does make much difference when the tires are covered with schmutz

Yes they're ok he just didn't edit that part from last years rules"thumbsup"

i measured mine on rims and they were 3.9" can you show me? i will change it if need be, those tires are very scale.

the un-modded tires is a good idea also, i will change that.

thanks foe the idea. :)

mine measure 4.0 maybe 4 1/16 heres a pic

4.2 inches mounted on a standard Tamiya rim, I could see the height being lower under the weight of a rig. But a tire should not be measured with weight placed on it.

But the most scale 1.9 tire ever seen should also not be disqualified for a fifth of an inch of uncertainty.

Next issue. ;-)

The 1.9 scale class will be limited to all 1.9" rim sized rigs.
- Track width can be NO more than 9" in the 1.9 class

Axial Axles + MSD 1.9 beadlocks + 1.9 rock crushers = 9 1/8" track width.

TLT Axles + MSD 1.9 beadlocks + 1.9 rock crushers = 8.5" track width, with CVD's it pushes 9"'s.

And that's with fairly narrow wheels as well. Food for thought.

you are the thorn in my side today:lol: fixed it, my trucks aren't that wide;-)

9.5" and 10.5" sounds much better, thanks Ben. My 1.9 may be running un-narrowed 1.9 Moabs and prolly wouldn't fit the 9" category. "thumbsup"

Thanks for being a thorn Badger.

Shit 10.5! You might as well be competing in the Unlimited class! :flipoff:

I know my role. ;)

No silly; Ben changed the width of 2.2 scale from 10" to 10.5".

TLT axles with 2.2 Claws, Junfac beadlocks, and blackfoot stubs comes in at 10.38".
TLT axles with un-narrowed 1.9 Moabs, 31mm wide/6mm offset HPI stock car wheels, and blackfoot stubs comes in at 9.38".
Measured outside of tire to outside of tire.

Seems to me like the width thing is nailed now. "thumbsup"
