OFFICIAL Release: Losi Micro Trail Trekker

To be honest I don't know for sure?? Now that you explain it that way, That just might be the way they did it?

Well... I still like the weights.:mrgreen:

I noticed last night on the horizon video for this that they show a sensored brushless system in at 3:57. A brushless micro crawler setup would be neat. Hopefully they don't want an arm and a leg for it...

I guess I didnt understand the axle difference...

Are the screws just longer to accommodate a wider hex, or are the rims and hex the same, just on a wider axle?

That's what I want to know, I asked on the first page if the current axles (mcrc) could be retrofitted to the new wider stance... no answer.

I believe Its been said that its the same axle with longer stub shafts and hex. should be able to easily upgrade

if someone doesn't like it don't buy it. these are great for someone just looking to easily start a micro build without buying a bunch of parts from misc places. it also expands the hobby & hopefully the micro scaler/crawler market. hopefully more losi and aftermarket upgrades will come from it.
also great for someone that just wants to slap on a body and not go for an extreme scale build.

I could use a few more Micros for builds but because of the lack of BND Ill just pick up a used micro crawler and wait for the new shafts and hexes.
the tires look nice, similar to RC4WD Rok Lox and would likely/hopefully be cheaper as well

I have to say, I'm really disappointed with Losi.

I feel like BND was a scam, and I've seen nothing from Losi proving otherwise. If I had known that they were going to pretty much abandon the technology, I could've saved myself some cash buying an RTR instead of picking up a BND radio that is now proving worthless.

The whole concept was that you could use it with more than one car, right?

So where are they?

Losi?

how is charging your LESS money and not giving you a radio you dont want/need a scam?

the fact the receiver works with a name brand quality radio and not just the losi brand seems like a benefit as well.

Though i REALLY wish there was a universal standard so any 2.4 radio can work with any 2.4 receiver "thumbsup"

Well, the idea is that the BND radio will work with other cars, not just the MRC. But since the MRC and BND came out, they have continued to crank out new models (like this new MRC/Trekker) that *don't* have support for BND. When they announced the Micro SCT they announced that there would be a BND version, but it still hasn't come out.

I'm just hoping that they will continue to put out BND vehicles, but beyond the unfulfilled promise for the MSCT, they haven't said anything about it.

I hear you on the universal thing, though. It'll never happen, but it *would* be nice.

Im willing to bet the lack of BND options is so they can make up $ releasing new models. Im sure the cost on the radios for losi are low enough they make a few $ having only RTR at first

and Im sure you are right about never having a universal 2.4, same reason $$ its business :/

you could always just buy a RTR, sell the radio for $60 bucks or whatever they sell for then just bind the new crawler to your old radio. you would actually be getting a super sweet deal that way, less then $100 for a ban new trekker if you can get a full $60 for the radio (shouldnt be hard, people seam to buy the first thing they see on ebay, some are still selling the micro crawler for $180+ 0_0 )

The real problem with spectrum bnd is that you have to bind it everytime you switvh vehicles.

Spectrum an losi would have been smart to do what traxxas did and let the reciever have a memory. So that it was an instant on type of thing.

With my tq, all I have to do is bind them once and then whichever vehicle imbrunning it auto binds to.

But the didn't, and that's why it sucks now and will forever.

iam running two vehicles of one losi controller without rebinding which from what your saying i shouldnt be able todo

W/ my DX3r its a matter of simply selecting the specific rig i want to drive, and its good to go.

Only on basic transmitters w/o model memory, would you have to rebind every time you switch vehicles.

I usually have both my micros on @ the same time, and just switch back and forth.
