OFFICIAL Release: Losi Micro Trail Trekker

Firstly, there's the option of taking a bit of a hit on cost, and being awesome and giving the radio to a new kid who could use it. or having a spare to help someone out when something random happens and their radio breaks.
But not all of us are milllionaires who have money to keep buying superfluous radios just to be nice (I know I'm not).

So, let's look at the math of RTR vs. BND for the consumer who has another radio and would prefer to not have extras.

RTR 1/24 scale crawler from Losi is 119.99. BND is 99.99. You spend a little extra, get a basic radio that you don't need.
The 2.4 DSM radio is going for an average of 30$ on Ebay as of my last check.
So you pay 119.99 for the RTR and you either sell it below most people at $20 to break even, or, you sell it for the average at $30 and make 10$ on the deal.

Since you could probably expect similar price difference on the Trail Trekker (if they were to make a BND version), the same principal with selling it would apply.

If you were able to break even or even make a little money on the deal, then what is the problem?
you get an innovative rig that is ready to be awesome straight out of the box either way.

Everyone is focused on what isn't being offered, as usual. But only a couple people have taken a second to look at this rig and see what makes it different, and way better than the original micro.

I was kind of "meh" on the first micro, but this thing is a blast to drive. I love the look, the stance not only looks way better, but it improves performance, the wheel weights are sweet, and I love the body style.

and yeah, I am a little biased, but I think this truck is fantastic. I like it so much, that if I'm allowed, I'll be taking one on the USS Cleveland with me this summer. It'll be perfect for on-ship diversion, and playing when at port.

better battery, better stance, cooler tires and body, easier start on making a good lookin scaler of your choice........ im in. i ordered mine.

looks like these guys are in stock and shipping here. You should start seeing them pop up in local shops soon "thumbsup"

The real problem with spectrum bnd is that you have to bind it everytime you switvh vehicles.

Spectrum an losi would have been smart to do what traxxas did and let the reciever have a memory. So that it was an instant on type of thing.

With my tq, all I have to do is bind them once and then whichever vehicle imbrunning it auto binds to.

But the didn't, and that's why it sucks now and will forever.

I have 1 DX3s that runs my slash 4x4, micro rally, micro sct, mini crawler and no rebinding.

I honestly cant wait or these to be released now!!!

the price of the original BND micro is gonna go down!!!

So any way you you look at it, this "New" micro is gonna get a lot of new projects started!

Ive seen other companies do that. does losi ever do that?
even if they do i dont see that being the case here.
the Micro crawler hasn't been out THAT long and this is just another version of the same truck for the scaler crowd

We would all sure love it if they did lower the price though!
id buy the BNDs in bulk to build scalers lol

I'm going soon to purchase one of these,

my intent is to test it, tear it apart and use the suspension links, driveshaft, & shocks on my Micro Crawler.

I just want to test what all can be transfered over, and how it will perform.

Yea, @ the LHS they are still $100 for the BND.

But on Fleabay my friend, fleabay. I want to see them dip below $80.

I could have a fleet!

I always seem to miss the ones that are below 80, but id love to pick up a few for 50-60.
another option might be waiting to find axle and transmission pull outs. would decent for building a scaler

Everything will transfer over. the shocks are said to be the same

The shocks are the same, however the upper shock mounts are different.

Since the shocks are leaned in away from the chassis more, the Trekker flexes smoother

thanks for the info. Do you know when we can see the wider hexes and axle shafts available separately ?

I fried the esc in my micro crawler the other day and was looking around for one. $50 seems to be the norm. Well I'll be damned if A-main has the BND version on for $69. For an extra $30 I get all the parts to the truck, well sure I says. It just came off back order yesterday and my order shipped today. "thumbsup"
