Official Chesapeake, VA beach, Suffolk Trail Run Thread

Just a heads up, The Richmond Marathon is this Saturday and the finish line is the road leading down to Belle Isle and part of the route is also on the south entrance. So not sure if it will be very easy to get out onto the Island.

On the riverside drive side where we go?

They have marathons all the time down there, I dont see it being a problem, but thanks for the heads up.

Just looked at the Marathon map, I think we are good.

Here is the route map, not sure if they will completely have the riverside route blocked or not. Part of the run is on riverside though.

 
That part of riverside is not near Belle.

The part on Belvidere is a bigger concern depending on how you come.

I know last year when I ran the half on my way in they had Forest Hill exits blocked off of 76 so not sure if they will allow people to cross the route or not. The race starts at 8am so by 10 most runners will be around the 10-14 mile mark. I just wanted to give you a heads up though so you know what to expect. I'll be running the full this year, but would probably rather run the wraith.

Hey Ram, the radio and news says it wil be a pain to get downtown tomorrow. I am down to try let me know what your thinking.
 
Well, I am still going to try, I have to get some footage tomorrow. I come in on 95, and will probably get off an exit or two early and sneak up that way. Even if I have to park a ways away and backpack in, I am goin' for it! "thumbsup"
 
If you take 95 south to Maury St exit, then make a left at the first light at the bottom of the exit. That will take you to Jefferson Davis Hwy. Make a right on Jeff Davis and go up make a left on Semmes Ave then a right on 21st. This should bypass 95%.
