Nyx, Luckydevils new build

Just wanted to chime in on the first test run of the sway bars. I like em. A lot. Takes out the torque twist and I can reach full throttle in my lawn which is very bumpy. Before she'd start getting a little bouncy and I'd have to let off the throttle before I'd loose control or she'd roll over. She seems to corner a lot better but you still have to watch it. She still climbs pretty good with em too. But just loosen the two arms and she fully articulates.
I'll try to take some video soon.
I'm using music wire approx. 2mm Diameter, (I'd have to confirm). It came with 2.5mm but they weren't long enough for the rear end. I wouldn't mind trying a stiffer set up when I have time.

Decided to do a servo winch, got a front "fairlead", shackle mount made and some brackets for rear shackles. I got some parts ordered. Replacing current steering servo(hitec HS-7955) with the hitec HS-7950. Now I can't decide if I want to take an old Hitec HS-5645 and turn it into the winch or just use the 7955 for a nice and powerful one? She's heavy so I'm kind of swaying towards the stronger.

Winch almost done, need to make a cover. Waiting on shackles and a hook. But it seems to work great. It can lift Nyx at a wt. of 11.6lbs. Now it sounded like it struggled a little once she was off the ground but I won't do that to much.
Thanks to the "how to's" here on RCCRAWLER!!!
I made a plate mount and brazed the tabs for the servo and a bearing holder. I had a small bearing that I attached to the spool shaft. That way it doesn't stress the servo too much. I bent some tubing so I could fish the winch line through the chassis and out the front. I'm pretty happy with it.
I ended up using the hitec HS-7955 for the winch.

I had a small bearing from I believe my Associated rc18t. The inside ID was 3M, outside I'm not sure. I just made sure the it was shimmed so it would role freely.

Well, since I got the winch running(I do need better line for it). I figured here in the corn fields of Illinois I may not be able to find a good tree or rock to tie up to so.......I needed a land anchor! Here's what I made. Still need to mount it good so it doesn't get lost in transport. I tested it last night and it's near perfect.

this is really the first time i have ventured away from the redcat thread and into the 2.2 and OMG!!!!!!!!! so many new ideas.

Very nice, the rig is very original and clever. Glad to see it is not a shelf queen. That anchor is also impressive.

Thanks Guys, I appreciate the feed back.

Here a few minor updates.
1. mounted up the anchor in the bed, simple yet effective, made a little bracket on the anchor which can also act as a place to hook on to it to pull it out of the ground.
2. Got some steel cable for the winch
3. I did get a thicker music wire for the sway bars, not tested out yet, but it is firmer.
4. made a sloppy guide for the winch line inside the tool box(a better spool would probably work better but this works pretty good).
5. I'm working on making the anchor adjustable and I want to make different Fluke attachments, I learned yesterday fluke is the shovel part.

Oh yeah, I'd made a little tool one for my Flatbed and one for Nyx to take the bodies off and other stuff without having to carry around my good allen wrenches. Just some tubing with allen wrenches brazed in. I can loosen my sway bars with it, hang it on my transmitter. My flatbed I stick on top with the shovels and stuff.

OK, Die-Laughing was so kind to hook me up with some beautiful rims.....2.2 Buckshot's...I also picked up some Crawler Innovations Double Deuce Foams. A set for the HPI's on Mayhems rims and some for the new rims. I do think they made a huge difference. Since I'm around 12lbs I got mediums up front and firm in the rear.
I did made a servo guard since I broke the housing last weekend. Not very good pic's of it but it's supporting on the top sides and underneath as well.

Looks awesome! Thats a beefy pull pal! Very cool truck. I want to make an exhaust for my truck now.. Yours came out great"thumbsup"

Thank you Sir!!!!! Your Buckshot rims are very sweet.
I made classic mufflers for my flatbed but I wanted the cherrybomb look for this truck(still may paint them like real cherry bombs).
Your FJ40 is really awesome!!!!
