No Prep Bandit Build

I have not been a fan of the angled front tower and it's impact on steering/handling, as well as shifting wheelbase thru the suspension cycle.

Barnyard RC has a polymer bulkhead that reduces the angle to 2.5 degrees and locks the wheelbase in at 13.2"...and makes steering more predictable.

Install required some sanding down the front shock tower and rounding the bottom corners to get the holes to line up. The included spacer for the body mount is fantastic to keep the existing body holes. Install did require some more corner sanding to get it to fit with the shock location and hardware.

It was worth the effort and minor tweaking/sanding.

These Exotek Titanium Axle/Hubs showed up on my feed... So I figured to give them a try... They definitely are smooth and light!!

I saw the Backyard RC front bulk heads. Look good and price is fair. I had already ordered the DRC Zero Degree sets myself. Love having the front end flat as it should be.

Those Exotek front axles looks sweet. I got one set of MIP TI fronts for one of the rigs, but will probably end up ordering these Exoteks for the other one, they look great and the weight in on par with the MIPs.

Units looking Sharp Xir.

These builds keep getting lighter. This build keeps shaving weight. I am going to have to likely add a few ounces of brass up front to keep it at 4.5 pounds.

My other "Scrappy" build is trending even lighter.

It reminds me of my old comp xr10 2.2 rig... Was super crazy light. Had to load weights in the front to climb. (still have that rig from 2012 outdoor Nationals in Alabama... And the yellow shirt with my old vendor logo on the back with all the sponsors... Miss those days.)

Decided to replace my front 2.5 degree Barnyard RC front bulkhead with a DRC aluminum piece.

The Barnyard piece was deemed brittle in the last grey batch, and the owner is replacing those defective parts as he prints them. Great customer service. That said, I got a bit nervous with that piece, so today I replaced it.

The DRC has its own issues.
- Suspension pin holes are too small for stock pins... AND too small for the DRC HARDWARE. I had to open the holes a bit to squeeze in the pins without slop or binding.
- The suspension pins are now also about 1mm further out at each side. This is a small amount, but could cause issues for some with very tight/narrow bodies.
- Messy threads in the top holes.

I like the finished result. Just surprised at the quality control for this part.

My Zero Degre went right into the Chuckworks rig no issues. Everything lined up and the pins fit nice. I used the STRC hinge pins.
I still have 2 for the other 2 rigs I have. May move one or both of them out for the time being.

I thought about the Backyard 2.5* but figured the DRC would be a better piece at the end of the day.

I like the part, but just surprised by the quality control. Took all of 5 minutes to fix.

Next will be printing needed things like body mounts, electronics plates, battery management, ect. Printer should be here by the weekend. Octoprint is built and ready. :)
