I have a Tekin setup that is not said to be water proof that I take the same precautions with and did seal the esc case with a clear coat never a problem yet

I think it's the most well-equipped rtr out there right now. New foams is just about all it needs. The electronics are excellent & it has all the upgraded parts.

What foams are you into and why?

When I was running the stock tires, I ran Crawler Innovations Lil' Nova dual stage foams. 4.5", soft in front, medium in rear. A world of difference. The inner foam (goes around the wheel) gives you sidewall support & the outer foam (goes around the inner) conforms to rocks.
