New Pro-line BFG KR2

Welcome to the forum and thanks for the reply. I get your points about the more scale look of the treads and I'm sure they will be great tires once i get things tuned better (and more weight on em).

But for all the effort for getting the lugs scale, why does the 2.2's have that hideous, non-scale, flat spot around the rim (notice 1.9's dont share this)

Well it's a long boring answer that you're not going to like. It has to do with how they are made and our standardized tooling. The response to this detail, however, has made it clear to us that any new tire we do in the future should not have such a large flat area near the bead - so thank you for that!

You ask hard questions derycksan. Any other brain busters?

:lmao:That'll do, thank you "thumbsup"

Can we get some not gigantic km, km2 or atko2 1.9s or 1.55? Maybe 4.19 inches tall? Also, can we get some new narrower chisels or new competition tire at 5.4 or 5.5 inches tall? Any way keep making great tire.

Sorry to hear of your disappointment derycksan. You're right about the lug surface area compared to the Axial KR2's; their tires have proportionally smaller and taller lugs with larger spacing than the full scale BFG's which allow them to work better in some conditions.

Our KR2 is meant to be a replica of the full scale tires so the tread is low and sized to scale. No excuses though- the Axial version will probably outdo our tire in a few cases especially when packed with soft dirt or mud. With that said, our tire has its place and our G8 compound is far superior to Axial's rubber which can make up for a lot.

We chose to make a KR2 in the same flavor as the full scale tire with the expectation that there might be other BFG tires in our lineup soon (hint hint) to fill the gaps.

We look forward to more pictures and feedback on the new KR2. Oh and since we are new to the forum, allow us to introduce ourselves- the Pro-Line product development team! We'll try to answer and ask as many questions as possible and we love to hear feedback and suggestions.

Wow! A vendor that can admit flaws in their products. That's a nice breath of fresh air!

While I have no interest in any of the BFG KR2 tires, I am a huge fan of the rest of ProLine's tire and I'm glad to see you here on this forum! "thumbsup"

just make the bead normal and I'll be happy. thats enough to get me to buy the Axial version.

I totally agree especially in 2.2. Everything new is sized for Wraith, Yeti and Bomber all totally useless on a 2.2 SCX10 scale rig?

Very cool to see that Pro-lines development team is giving us a direct line to communicate with them! "thumbsup"

Since they are asking what we might want, I'll make use of the opportunity- How about a nicely detailed/proportioned 1st Gen. K5 blazer body?

Yeah!!!

Some 4.19 tall tsl's in 1.55 or 1.9 would be awesome! I'm sure a lot of us class 1 guys would be all over them. I know I would be.

Who has the 2.2's and has gotten to run them??? I'm sick of waiting for Axial and I've always had great luck with the G8 compound.

How about making the bead like every other maufacturer. Not the triangle wedge shape. I cut the beads right off a set of the smaller sx swampers just buy running them in some Gearhead wheels.

While your at it, fix your beadlocks to a standard shape aswell. I wont run your wheels or your rubber because of it. Big fan of all the 1/8 and 1/10 racing stuff tho.

Got my 2.2's mounted up over the weekend. .750" SLW with 5.5" medium CI foams (CWR-1005) in the front and standard height Deuces Wild foams (CWR-3003) in the rear. There is a slight air gap between the treads and the DW foam, but a few minutes of run time proved that it wasn't an issue.

Fantastic pics, thanks! "thumbsup"

I've got standard DW foams right now inside of og tsl-sx and will probably use them if I go with the Proline KR2. Unfortunately it's the heart of winter and just snowed a bunch so I won't be able to test anything for months.

How does the tire carcass feel? Really thin and soft or any ribbing or anything on the inside?

No ribbing or extra rubber on the inside of the tire. I like it because the tire ends up a lot lighter (110 grams) and let's the foam do all of the work.

Just got my 2.2s today. They look and feel really good. However, my 2.2 standard CI dueces wild foams seem way too small.. There is side to side play when mounted on 1" wheel and 1/4" air gap on the tread.. I don't think that's a good fit at all...
