New Pro-line BFG KR2

I bought 6 of the 1.9's. Hmmm..

Next to a 1.9 Trepador.

Compound feels good. I plan on using them in high traction situations. The lugs are shallow but shouldnt be an issue for me.

Wow they are large!

They're seemin a bit wide. I dunno, maybe it's just the pics. I like the size of my gladiators, they're just a touch wider and taller i guess. So all quite similar. Maybe it's the big lugs that make it appear 'large'. I'd like to try em' either way, just hope i can clear them in the steering area.

Hows everyone liking their KR2's? I'm a little dissapointed, feel my Krawlers and Axial KR2s hooked up better. These just have too much surface area on the lugs and not enough edge/gaps IMO.

I've got mine on backorder, disappointed to read that.

Keep in mind we all have different preferences and run on different trails and different setups. I was just trying to hear what others are experiencing.

I was thinking that i may just need more weight on these things as im still running rtr plastic everywhere but driveline and wheels. My main comparison using a rig that weighs 3lbs more and running 1.9s so there is quite a bit more weight for contact area.

Sorry to hear of your disappointment derycksan. You're right about the lug surface area compared to the Axial KR2's; their tires have proportionally smaller and taller lugs with larger spacing than the full scale BFG's which allow them to work better in some conditions.

Our KR2 is meant to be a replica of the full scale tires so the tread is low and sized to scale. No excuses though- the Axial version will probably outdo our tire in a few cases especially when packed with soft dirt or mud. With that said, our tire has its place and our G8 compound is far superior to Axial's rubber which can make up for a lot.

We chose to make a KR2 in the same flavor as the full scale tire with the expectation that there might be other BFG tires in our lineup soon (hint hint) to fill the gaps.

We look forward to more pictures and feedback on the new KR2. Oh and since we are new to the forum, allow us to introduce ourselves- the Pro-Line product development team! We'll try to answer and ask as many questions as possible and we love to hear feedback and suggestions.

Wow, nice to have you guys here and apart of the community. I must ask, any plans for a class 1 tire? Maybe a scaled down tsl sx 38 incher or so?

Great response and welcome to forum! Very much a PL fan, run a wide spectrum of RC and you guys are usually a part of it.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for the reply. I get your points about the more scale look of the treads and I'm sure they will be great tires once i get things tuned better (and more weight on em).

But for all the effort for getting the lugs scale, why does the 2.2's have that hideous, non-scale, flat spot around the rim (notice 1.9's dont share this)

How are the foams in these? Too big like the TSls or good like old proline
They were huge. I didnt bother using them. Opted for CI double deuces but im pretty sure stocks would work well if trimmed a bit. They were pretty firm for foam and should break in well for crawling.
