Major picture update!!!
Well Iv got my PC set up so I was able to get all my photos from my camera finally so let's go ahead and do this update! Unfortunately we haven't been able to utilize Ape Garage as my space is very limited here. But the build still continued.
First we are gonna jump back before the final paint job to primer photos and sanding.
So at that point I was finally happy with where the body stood with no visible dents and imperfections. So went ahead and painted.
Next I went ahead and changed up the shocks as I found the scale super scale shocks from rc4wd couldn't hold the weight of all body and bumpers and etc. so I upgraded to these RRD shocks I found at my local hobby shop. They are perfect just debating on going with some shorter shocks.
Next has to be my favorite part of the build the door panels! Got them nice and painted.
Then I bring us to where we were last with the intercooler.
The next thing I wanted to knock out were the rear lights so I cut my hole to fit them and glued them in place and filled around them with plastic body filler. What I didn't take a picture of was painting the body filler with a gray that would match the body as close as possible. As it didn't matter much it was gonna be covered by the rear fender guards.
After working on the interior, filling all joints and cracks and sanding it down we moved to painting. With help from the fiancée, we determined that a flat black interior with flat grey accents would be perfect for this build and this is how it turned out!
When wiring up the lights I found the perfect way to hide the light cables in the engine bay. This would be perfect for anyone who'd is using these Knight custom parts and is working on an engine bay. So I ran the cable through the gaps the the front finders and reattached it to the jeep. I had to make a small diagonal cut in the body to feed the wife's back into the jeep where it would not be seen.
Next I took it for a spin in the snow again!
After a nice test run I was happy where it's at. Now it's time to finish it up and do the finishing touches. I started with mounting the doors and hood using those really strong magnets to keep them in place.
Next was the crazy wiring, I chopped and shortened the wires for the lights and some of the other wires I order to keep it looking as clean as I could. In this first photo you can kinda see how the front finders look with the wires. Next I took the inner fender wells from my previous build that's being recycled soon into a two door china jeep for the fiancée. But to make them fit I had to cut them quite a bit as they stuck out from the fenders quite a bit but I'm happy how they turned out.
I then went back and reinstalled the gps unit just waiting to place the decal on it. Then I installed the headlight lenses. Looks great!
That's all I have for now
well I have one more I just need to take some quick pics to show y'all I'll be right back.
