I had a great time as well. The only downer for me was the misquitos... (I hate misquitos.:x) Thanks to everyone that came out, and also thanks for everyone's patience while we stumbled through our first G6.
I think we were able to hash out some good rules for the G6 in the parking lot. Here's a brief summary of what we decided on:
-We ran in groups of 2 and one group of 3 because we had an odd # of people.
-Everyone ran at the same time.
-One timer between each pair. Start the clock, toss it in you pocket, and run.
-We used the honor system, and had every keep track of their own penalties.
-Penalties for hitting a gate, having to use your hand to right yourself after a roll over (no penalty if your partner could right you).
-All penalties were 30 seconds.
-We also had a spot to do a 'tire change' where you just had to remove one tire then reinstall it.
-Someone had their wheels bolted on with locktite, so we opted for a 2-penalty (1:00) for anyone who couldn't/didn't do the tire swap.
-There were also 2 spots that were not drivable. We decided to do a 'carry-over'. Stop the clock while you carry your rig past the puddle, set your rig down just after it, then start the clock and continue on.
I liked running it as above, because everyone was able to run at the same time. Things got a little bottled up a quarter of the way through the course the first time through at a more challenging gate. Otherwise, the event seemed to run very smooth.
