Micro Mod bible

So how is that aaffecting your rear articulation?

the rear are reverse leaf springs and the links really are there to stop it from getting hung up on rocks. (they're Springless McRc shocks actually!:lmao:

and since the balls allow some rotation it actually does not affect the articulation at all!. although if you tried doing it the same on a regular ball and cup link it may bind. this truck does not articulate much at this scale anyways.

This will make a few of you Laugh real hard. but remember this is a SCALE rig, made to run SCALE....

In short, the truck only articulates this much to begin with. so it probably wouldn't work on something that can really rotate.

I may use the idea for just covering the worm gear housing, as it would definitely bind up my links:

if you round the sides and hook it onto the links it will allow rotation. mine are glued just because I am lazy.

I don't mean to brag, but I think my truck defiantly has a little more twist than yours!:lmao: by about -3 or -4 inches. O.o

so i did a spot check read pg 1, 5, 7, 11, 12... have to take kids to hockey then i will read ALL..

I see great ideas here for adding weight, fans, batteries, bb's and all...
i got a ton of parts already...
any of these make sense to use or are they all just gonna give me just better looks for it?
like said i got a great deal on a 2 micro deal so all these came with it... just looking at if there is anything performance beneficial... or aluminum does add weight...

ETRL Mega Threads tire mod!
The Toy:
John Deere Monster Treads Value 3 Pack

They are commonly John Deere and can be found at Fleet farm relatively easy, Most other large stores carry them, but the inventory I found was limited.

You need to cut the inside out of the losi tire, but instead of turning it around to widen the tire, just toss the rest in a parts bin.

IMAG0466_zps2e60cf64.jpg

You need to trim the center of the Toy tire so it clears, I drilled out the entire center, so I can remove the tire without having to break it off.

With a little super glue and pressure it pops into the toy's tire damn near perfectly and so long as the glue dries centered the tire wont wobble or do anything like that. It's awesome how perfect it fits....

Final product.

you CAN cut out all the ribs on the toy tire, and shoe gooe the tire to the rim so it has more flexibility, but I ended up not using these very long because It was too easy to beat my dad's stock trekker... by a land slide! Terran he worked to get over and up I just jammed the throttle and went over it like a speed bump. Not sure how well miniqlo tires do myself, but I found for 10 bucks this mod doubles as a super wide mod too, it was worth the effort to at least have done it.

Im running, 350 mah lipo, bwd widner kit, stubby barrels, miclaws, stock rims, sumo crawler shocks, sumo crawler esc/rx, sumo crawler 2.4 3 channel tx, 2 hitec 65's, 4 wheel, 4 mode steering!! oh and a dannally 90 t ( awesome motor ) tranny flip and ditched the slipper.

Any ideas on building a steering linkage, i know the possibilitys are endless, but would like to hear of others success in this area

Where did you get miclaws? I can't find them anywhere!

I've found simular at a local junk shop using phone batteries. (2 2.4 packs setup to be a large 4.8 )
it was about ~1200mah
and heavy.

Flipped the trans 180deg , top plastics 180deg , esc in batt holder , on/off switch removed , had to shave esc case were switch wires used to come out for it to fit in batt holder , also small notch in top of batt holder plastic to clear the wires coming out of the esc , all wires tucked under top plastic plate , the "winch" actually holds itself In place under the front lower body pins with its own tension

I can see that many here are running with a non stock esc and receiver? Care to share where can i pick one up? Ive burnt my stock esc and getting a new stock esc is a little expensive.

I look forward to answers on this one. I plan on getting a Trekker from Jim this summer and I know he has stock esc's. Not sure about rx's though. Unless they are all in one. I am brand new to these so no clue but I'm reading and reading. ;-)

Hope that helps.
