Now for some "tech"... Haha
Shock building time...
Starting point
Needed upgrades.. the only ones needed for a leak free and smooth scx shock.. imo...
With the chassis and amount of flex, I limited the front shocks 4mm. Not much but enough to help keep the nose down.
I also took a little tid bit from Christina(hittman) and went with some internal springs. They keep the rear end lower and sucked down for sidehills, until the rear end needs to drop out. Then they are only good for a 5mm shock limiter. The are losi micro crawler springs(part number losb1722)
I went this route for 2 reasons. 1. It Just works! 2. Dave ran my sporty at a few comps and said he wants his to work, act, and react just like mine did/does..
Green slime and 3 stock o-rings, no black plastic piece..
Together but no oil. The rear shock will extend just as far, or close, to the front shocks..
Together with oil.. 40wt front with silver mrc springs and 30wt rear with silver mini-t rear springs..
Ride height comes in around 2.35" front an 2.65" rear of skid.
At rest.. (oh, look at them Shift hubs shine!)
The when ready to drop out.. a full inch of ground clearance is to be had, the full length of the skid.
With a full body, resting on the servo mount..
One cut to go around the servo.. low and sleek. No issues getting around upside by any means! Which is were Dave likes to spend half his time per course... :sly::sly::sly:
Time is nearing for electronics.. and for fun, I wanted to see where the rtr would come in at..
So I stuffed the stuff in the tool box, after I hit the rate button for the tool box..
Not bad.. a little over 3lbs 11ozs.. no knuckle weight yet.. so add 4ozs to it, at minimum. So right around 4lbs when all said an done..
