As life happens and Dave's work just doesn't understand the importance of rock crawling, I'm lucky that mine does :), I'm Stoked to represent 5th D an him in the start of this build and thru tuning!

So when I got a tote full of goodies, an some not so goodies, I pulled it all out to look it over.. Mmm.. parts!

As I tore down the old sporty and a few sets of axles. I came up with CtBM premium splined beef tubes, axial od, modded xr uni's, stock chubs and VP wraith knuckles. Which got CW crawlers steering arms an Rcbros weight holders.

for the rear axle, axial ud gear set, stock axle, with a Bwd link plate.

As this is what was holding his old tranny on, I swapped out his case for him.

Links at this point are a myth, soooo, this is the lay out at this point. (not staying this way)

Link plate mounted and a shot of. The Dlux wheels and voodoo tires(gold's), with CI DD 6" soft front an med rear, both with tuning rings.

Looks good so far Troy. Now if only that lazy sumbitch could find the time to help with links...:flipoff:
It looks a Lot better now, this was progress last week.. lol..
He actually did help with links.. the links off his old sporty pretty well nailed it!

What would Dave do without you? :lmao:
Well.. I could make a list.. but.. I won't! :banghead:

Baahahaha.. how bout it.. on his behalf, it came that way when I bought the old rig.

Nah, he is not done. His work schedule has crazy crazy hours. I am hoping that he can come to the NENQ.

No sir! He just has some things taking his time away to do the build with the needed attention. As I'm laid off and Always liked this chassis, I jumped on the chance to build and tune it..

That and who doesn't want to build a rig to test, abuse and tune, with most all the parts provided and no money out of pocket! :D

Oh you better believe it. I have seen some rigs held together with duct tape and bailing wire. I am not kidding.

Yeah i am still crawling! I just have a lot going on, work , family, illness, etc etc etc. I am lucky Troy has no life. And.on the wood screws I have no comment other than i got the rig like that and left it as is. Lol.

The link lengths on this one are no mystery but I will admit that even those with drawers full if links wouldn't have these lengths laying around. Dave is a good dude with tons of BS going on and I'm glad Troy had time to get it laid out. Hell I can't even get my threads started and Troy is doing Dave's so hats off. As for the wood screws, Colby's my man but he wears a lot of overalls and plays with guns. I'm proud of him the wood screws seem to be the right lengths;)

No life! You do realize I'm building Ur COMP rig, right!? .......

can you say, Sabotage....

Oops, is the wheel base too long... Oh, what do you mean I put the od in the rear an the ud in the front axle? (how funny would that shiz be!) :D

No joke there David.. I went thru multiple link changes to get the wheel base right, its a good thing I do have a drawer full! (or box full anyways)

Colby, the wood screws were as tight as a 3mm set in steel with loc-tite! Good show...

Now on to the rig..

Well, I'm not sure what else Dave was doin on the internet when hr ordered his Dlux wheels, but he wasn't paying attention to the wheel width...

I think my 1.9 foams would work.. :)

So I pulled out some aluminum braces I had and got him a little closer to 1"..

uploadfromtaptalk1392103821286.jpg

And mounted..

uploadfromtaptalk1392103849533.jpg

Roller.. (yes, ill be getting better pics as I go back over everything, I just got on a roll and got it all together so I knew where I was at with everything)

uploadfromtaptalk1392104067373.jpg

A little bit of flex.. which will be taken care of when I take the shocks off for rebuild and shock oil. (Yes Dave, you Will run shock oil in these shocks!)

uploadfromtaptalk1392104167899.jpg

And since a tie rod was, uh, none existent, I grabbed one I bent some time ago for different steering setup.
Its a wraith tie rod I bent. It didn't work on my build but fits like a charm with the link plate provided..
