i had to reinvert my shocks to normal as the shock cap was binding with the transmission box .... added spacers between the chassis and the front top shock caps as well to achieve the desired angle and flexibility ...

the V4 as to compared to my V3 has the shock mounts waaaaaay inside the chassis ..... pros is that it will clear locks better ....

here are some shock mounting pics from my V3 XR-10 ... as you can see ... the mounting is around 40-50mm wider than the new V4 chassis

v4 Berg

Looking great! "thumbsup"

Your jig is quite nice. I am building my 1st Berg myself. Does the jig allow you to set up the suspension, links, and over all length?

Love the upper links on the x-10. Did you make them? And would something like those work on the Berg?

I am building mine right now also I wanted the flipped shocks but also found out that there was no way for that to work. I am quit fond of the losi mini Shocks helps out with steering also. JUst my 2 Cents. I am righ at 12 1/2 compressed on my build yours seams to be coming alon quit nicely. Let me know where your decided to place your upper links and shocks I had mine mounted on the rear at the 2nd whole from the back and the front on the 3rd hole back from the first one. I changed it up and got more Belly lift."thanks from the help Rocky666 ON my build thread on the Shocks"

thanks .... the setting jig is just an aluminum angle drilled with setting holes from 11" to 13.5" .... "thumbsup"

the jig can get vertical suspension play .... link length ... and you can set your build at 12.5" on the dot ... "thumbsup"

and yup .... i cut out and drilled the upper links on my v3 xr-10 ..... i haven't had time to set the uppers and front lowers for the berg yet but im thinking of going with straight uppers because of the uper link mounting location of the berg axle .... ;-)

i think the traxxas big bores with losi mini-T's will work really well and you can get full steer without rubbing on shock springs ... 8)

thanks for the tips on where to mount the links on the chassis .... i havent really had time to go into that yet ... but i will try the set-up you have posted .... "thumbsup"

thanks "thumbsup"

just ordered some crazy origin shock caps .... this will probably allow me to invert the shocks as previously intended ...

"thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup"

You will like the CO caps. I have run them a while now and love not having a rubber bushing on one side of the shock.

The build looks great so far "thumbsup"

X2 on the shock caps. The 4mm hardware and Revo ends are the hot ticket!! Great looking build, so far. Man alot of us have evolved to the MOA's. "thumbsup" I love my berg, dont know how i ever comped without it. Although i hated selling my Fastback:cry:

thanks ;-)

just a few updates .....

first off .... i had binding issues with the stock Losi Crawler Shocks if they were inverted .... ended up installing them upright but honestly ... i wasnt happy with that set up .....

problem solved with a set of crazy origin shock caps ....

do take note that if you do this shock cap mod is that your losi shocks will extend longer than you need ... limited the shocks internally

FRONT

REAR

img00919.jpg

img00920.jpg

the clearances with the tranny is a lot better plus the play with revo shock ends with the cap mods are smooth as butter! "thumbsup"

got a good deal with the motors in the RCC classifieds! "thumbsup"

reedy 35T quad magnets go in front

img00922.jpg

img00923.jpg

img00924.jpg

HH Torquemaster 35T for the rear

img00925.jpg

img00926.jpg

i also outboarded the shocks and the rear lowers ..... there were clearance issues with the shocks and the tranny ....

i'm sure this will sidehill a lot better with the wider stance in the rear "thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup"

I ended up limiting my Losi shocks internally 1/3 of an inch and none externally on my LNC and it worked really well. I see you still have yours limited externally on the shafts, only you will be able to decide if its too much limiting or not but you will probably find it to not have a lot of travel, I would recommend taking the external limiters off the shafts. The shocks look really good, so does the rig, I look forward to seeing what you think of the performance of my caps. There is now several well setup bergs with my caps, yours is the only one I know of with the Losi shocks though, it will be nice to see what you think, sounds like so far its good.

hey CO .... i did end up limiting the internals of the shocks .... a little bit longer than the previous set up i had .... i did notice that with external limiters travel is a bit limited .... i was actually thinking of removing them ....

the shock caps are awesome .... finsih is superb and funstionality is on the dot ....

got the rig as a roller now .... will post pics of the update

cheers

finally in roller form ....

removed the external limiters .... yes i needed more travel ....

notice the different shade of silver with the bullet weights .... nova's aluminum weights .... 3 nova's bullets = 1 VP bullet .... i get to max out the use of the DH's "thumbsup"
