Losi 1/10th Roller

Hmm....the way this thread is lit up, I get the feeling Losi won't be able to make enough of these to keep up with demand for quite a few months if not the year.

ok so im 13 and want one of these during the summer is when i would get it my only issue is money so i would like to know the cheapes but good set up as in a good 2.4ghz system and a brushless motor and i was thinking nimh packs because thats all ive ever used i might make a cutom pack with about 4 cells up front and 2 or 3 in the back.

Ok so this is the set up i will use unless some one else changes my thinking for a moter i would use the losi system17.5 or there new 21.5 and are they coming out with a 25 turn. also the novak goat is a option its also cheper by about 30 bucks. for a servo i will use the jr one with 370 oz of i thinks there making a new one with 400oz if they do ill get it now for radios i would love the dx3r but man like 340 bucks for a radio thats more than the kit so my next option would be there lower quality dx3s i think it is correct me if im worng but even that is 250 bucks:-( so after that is there lowest quality 3 chanel shich is still a beter radio than any this i own(i have 2 stock losi radios and orld am and a am that came with a boat also the 2.4 system that comes with the mrc) so this is an option because it is only 170 bucks but i could get the dx5i wich is 100 bucks of does the dx3 have more options and all you need on a comp rig is there chanels thanks guy if you dont think that this post is not for this tread then pm me the answer thanks agian

keep rocking"thumbsup"
The best radio is the DX3R, because of the 3 position 3rd channel. The DX3S does NOT have a 3 position 3rd channel only a 2. So you would only be able to use the front dig, or the rear dig, not both. You can even use your radio you own now but without any dig at all.

As for Batteries try and stay away from smaller NI-MH size cells, you can use the sub C size with no issues (like a 6 or 7 cell for a off-road or on-road car) but you'll need to find the room for them to fit.

Thanks for that info! really helps for planning things out. I'm still undecided on brushed vs. brushless. I don't want to give up anything going either route, wheelspeed and low end etc... I'll have to make that decision based on more info as it gets closer to release...

It would be cool to hear the others chime in as well, the more info the better :)

And of course more video/pictures!

Thanks!

I've ran the Losi brushless with a 30.5 motor on 3s lipo,
Novak Goat with a 18.5 on 2s A123 1100mah li-ion,
Mamba Max with a 35turn Team Brood handwound motor on 3s lipo.

All set ups have everything you need but every driver has a different taste so you'll have to decide which is best for your application.
I like the 2s Goat system because of the wheel speed but the 3s on the Losi system has more power and torque for those rough bind sections.

Hope this helps.

I've already bought a Holmes 45t. Boy I hope a 45t will give me enough wheelspeed. I've been all jacked up to put a holmes motor in a vehicle but now am wondering if I shouldn't have went with a lower turn. Any thoughts you pro guys? Thanks.

Yea it sounds like my crawlmaster will be replaced with something else, guess I'll be stepping up to a different brushless so I can get more wheelspeed.

Wow I really like how this car has come out. I currently have a wheely king and was saving up for an AX10- but from the looks of it, I may just save up a little more and buy the Losi crawler instead. Looks like a solid rig. Taking forever to be available at the LHS though.. lol

bump on the new video. is there still one comeing out?

Oh Yeah "thumbsup"

Rich and I shot a ton of video, they should be editing it all together now. We should see it early next week. I'm as excited to see it as you guys are... I was pulling some pretty big stuff for the cameras 8)

Sweet

Well I was planning on going to the East Coast Championship here in my backyard to watch but

THIS JUST IN:

I'm all set to be rocking this rig at the East Coast Championships  in CopperHill, TN. April 3rd-5th. I can't wait to see what the rig and I can do against the best in the East...

This is going to be even better watching. Now only if my reimbursement check from my job would hurry up and get here.

I think even if it does come out in may, it will more than likely be another two-three months before i would get one, because of the demand for the losi.:-(

1st Again!

I pulled off another 1st place finish with the Losi in Round #3 of OCRCRC's Orange County series. I had a perfect day going until taking the last gate on the last course, but I finished with a score of -11 and it was good enough for the win.

I switched to the new Comp Claws for this run, and I loved them. I had to make a few setup changes to compensate for the bigger tires, but overall this rig is better now then it was before. I added another ounce of weight to each front tire, and put my 3/8" limiters back on the outside of the shocks to limit uptravel. I think I've got the rig just about dialed in for the ECC 8)

I'll post up the pics once I find them

When will there be a section for this rig in the forum I wonder?
I have mine on pre order already and lookin forward to playin with this rig. Looks like a very innovative rig...........
