Hi all,
I was able to hack my android phone onto a Maisto crawler and fpv thru the cell network.
My next step is to make a custom PCB, make a better mounting for the phone, get a real crawler (thinking of the exceed 6x6 mad torque crawler), and go for a long range tour of my neighbourhood. The advantage of using the cell network is that you can potentially control your vehicle from miles away and are not limited by the range of a traditional fpv video link. Just wondering what people think of fpv'ing their crawler.

Sounds like fun till someone picks it up and keeps it!

Sounds awesome... how have you got the phone connected to the servos etc?

I'm in agreement with others here...

if it is driven/flown beyond your physical presence, within a community...
it's most likely someone else will be the new owner. Lol

Personally I feel that long range (FPV) RC is an unacceptable invasion
to our communities and all living things
and so I would not hesitate with the destruction of that property.

The sky and land does not belong to those whom think their
privileges outweigh others rights.

So don't do this... unless you are on private land.

google glasses are another public invasion...
that deserves a punch in the face.

I value what little privacy I have remaining (it's not much) :x
and if that is to become invaded as well...
then I would perceive that as a threat to my privacy and well being.
And would think it acceptable to destroy your property.

So don't ignore others privacy rights
just so you can have your personal fun.

Don't be an asshat.

I fly fpv quad copters and even though I can fly about a mile out I find I don't want to fly any farther than I want to walk if something happens. Same here with ground pounding. All it takes is flipping your ride and then it is a long walk of shame.
