LCC with a micro esc/receiver

I am finally buying a losi comp crawler and I will be using a esc/receiver from a losi micro rock crawler. I tested it out in my MRC with a 1320mah 7.4lipo works fine other than not having a drag brake for the MRC but that wont be needed for the LCC because of worm gears. All I will need to buy is a motor and servo.Any suggestions for a good servo and motor that will go ez on the esc ?
 
If you do some looking you'll find many threads on this but I really think that the speed control will be insufficient as the only luck people seem to have with something to the tune of a 21t Titan motor or HH Puller motor and I highly doubt that little speed control could handle the amperage required to run either of those motors.
 
well i will use it in my mrc for a while and see if it burns up ,and in theory I should be able to just run a 370 can in the comp crawler cause the mrc has enough power with the 370 motor and this esc seems to handle that motor just fine. there is a scaler build in rc car action mag that uses this esc/receiver in his 1/10 no problem so i know it will work
 
You need to video this from the first time you put the batteries in, until everything smokes... I wanna see the fireworks!
 
Im not over volting the esc its 7.4 lipo ready so there will be no smoke unless i don't watch my heat .

I would guarantee a typo.

1) I can't believe a micro esc running anything bigger, let alone a 370 from a mini.

2)a 370 isn't powerful enough for Comp Crawlers worm axles.

Sadly, I think you're just going to have to buck up and spend some money on decent esc and motor.
 
I'm really new to crawling, but I have a hard time believing that an ESC designed for a 1/24 model will be sufficient to drive a 1/10 properly. If that were the case Losi would put that same ESC in the Mini Rock Crawler and the Night Crawler. I mean, I could put a Chevy Aveo 1.6L engine in my Suburban, and it may even get the vehicle moving down the road, but it certainly won't perform like the 6L that's in it now.

Voltage isn't the issue here. Amperage is. Running a 540 sized motor that is sufficient enough for a comp crawler is going to draw much more current than a 370 sized motor. If you use a 370 sized motor in the comp crawler not only is it not going to crawl but it won't get out of its own way.
 
There's one major difference between an SCX-10 and the LCC/LNC: Worm gears. Worms require a lot more juice from electronics than the Axial axles do.

The worms are the key here.. Axial axles are very free moving axles.. LCC worm drive axles have an extreme amount of friction...thus requiring a lot more power to move them. :0)

....Just cause someone uses a small esc in an Axial Scaler....doesn't mean it'll work in an LCC.

But, it's your truck........ Maybe you should run the first two battery packs "on video" so you can prove everyone who has already tried it wrong! ... :roll:
