Interest in Rally?

Looks like Rodney and I are planning to head out to HOON 470 tomorrow morning for a little snow practice rally. The track has 4 inches of snow on it still unpacked. The plan is to go out there and pack it down right before we start driving. Once it starts to melt off and get wet that is when we leave. Should be out there around 10am. Probably get and hour or two of driving in if anyone is interested.

How was it?

I finally got around to getting my junk back up to par. Had some issues with the new diff set-up I put in the Rally but got it all sorted out . With any resistance, the output shafts would just spin on the slipper clutch pucks instead of holding tight. Turns out the male end of the output shaft was too long (wish I had that problem :flipoff: ) and wouldn't allow the flanges to seat on the diff gear/pucks. After a little grinding I was able to get it all to seat properly. I think both the TT and the Rally are ready to ROCK "thumbsup"!

I also programmed the ESC's to go straight to reverse. There were many times during a race I would be pumping reverse and the Rally/TT wouldn't move. I guess I don't have the patience to leave it in neutral before going to reverse .

Now all I need is hours and hours of seat time  and I'll be a able to make it past the losers' bracket :ror:.

How was it?

Not very good.:ror: The sun was a little warm which caused the snow to melt a little to quickly, so the track never really packed down, just would get soft over and over. I blame Jake. He made me go out there.:ror: But it killed some time and was really nice out today. "thumbsup"

Glad you got your stuff together Chad, now come play.

Picked up this little guy the other day. Not too much fun with the provided NiHm battery but a riot with a 2s lipo. I got the brushless system for it but it is having issues. When it works, it's KILLER! Horizon is sending me a new esc to see if that is what's causing the "glitchy" problem.

Tons of fun and laughs with my boy on our little indoor rally course.

Got the Micro running for a while. They like to overheat and melt pinion gears when you run them on a 1250mah lipo  After a lot of cutting, fab'ing and more cutting, I was able to keep the temps down

This thing screams with the brushless and a lipo. I only wish I knew they had the 2.4GHz brushless car RTR for sale; I would have bought it instead of the brushed car.

I still need to order some brass pinion gears and then I'll be set. I can't believe how much fun this little car is

Found this video of a track in Broomfield. That looks like a blast!

That's the mantra I've been saying :lmao: about the new Losi brushless car. It's a good thing Tower doesn't carry them or I would have bought one with their discounts

Juan, I have one but lost the remote.....you can have it ill bring it on sunday, brushed w/lipo its a sweet littlecar but i dont run it anymore....ide rather see it driven or something...takes a standard non 2.4 losi radio

Big thanks to Van...I've been looking online for spare parts and will soon be running this guy around the basement!

I just got done going through the DF03ra. Diffs where a bit tight and no lubrication, so I fixed that front and rear.

There's really no other reason for me to post this, other than to let you know I'm ready for the next one :flipoff:

I also got a GoPro2 for my birthday, so I want some good video of Rodney kicking ass "thumbsup"

Hey Juan,

I highly suggest Turnigy lipo's and brass pinion gears. You may have to do some cutting in order to get the lipo's to fit. I bought the 2s 500MaH and they work great. The brushless RTR is worth the price of admission if you end up liking the Micro Rally car. Way more power than the brushed on NiHm's.

This is a great site for Micro tech. You'll have to register in order to view the site.

I thought it was about time for a new body and decided we needed some Ford influence at the events . I also made inner fenders. Got the idea from another thread and it seems like it'll help.

Nice chad. That should keep some of the junk out.

If anyone is interested Rodney and I are planning to go out to HOON 470 saturday for a little bit. I check the track out yesterday and it was dry as a bone. Hopefully the bad weather coming tomorrow isn't to crazy.

Thanks Ty. I'm hoping it'll work.

I may be down for this weekend, depending on weather. Looks like it's supposed to be nice Friday and Saturday.
