Interest in Rally?

I going to look into something different for the rally and trophy. It wasn't so much the snow and mud that was doing the damage, it was the water puddles that caused most of the havoc. That's what took out my receivers temporally.

I am thinking that is what hurt my TT, I just threw it in the shower a couple hours ago, so I will wait a couple days before I look at the electronics in it.:ror: The cars are fine though. Got them all cleaned up today and put back together.

Since it is snowing now I think the track should be pretty good later this week. I will have to test it out and see.

Anyone is welcome to come out and play in the snow if they want.

Any advice for a guy looking at a starter rally car:ror: Found some tt01e kits that look good, are the dfo3ra kits worth the extra $$ ??

The TTs look like a hoot8)

Once the rear diff is moded the DF03ra is a nearly indestructible.

Gary is an advocate for the TT01, but I think they require too many upgrades out of the box to be affordable compared to the DF03RA.

But there are other cars out there like the TB01, TC3, etc. that could be good, but they require some research before purchasing.

There are really a lot of options out there, but for a in production car the DF03RA is my choice.

^^^ pretty much has all the hopups just need some electronics, a body and some driving skills;-)

GJM

FYI a Tamiya body cost about 50.00 after getting a body that is the same price as a DF03RA."thumbsup"

And the DF03RA comes with a motor and ESC, they are not that good, but comes with them nonetheless.

You will also need tires, about another 20.00

Thanks Shon, I love it, the best driving rally car I have had yet."thumbsup"

...

The TB01 is an amazing driving car, far better then the DF03RA in my opinion.

So then the TB01 is not available? If one could find a used TB01, would you recommend it over the DF03ra?

I have really enjoyed my TT-01 and I like the touring car handling that it provides. I have had to up grade a little and do a few mods. Lucky there were several up grades already done to the TT-01 when I got it.

I think that Ty is correct and the DF03 is a better value. So unless you want a project to work on I would grab a DF03 when you can.

Yes I would recommend it over the DF03RA, but get two, because you never know when parts will become non existent.

And yes the TB01 is discontinued, it was disco'd back in 2008.

I could see Tamiya bringing it back someday, but really know one knows if or when that would ever happen.

The TB01 handles better, runs smoother and feels more balanced then my DF03RA, even with that said I would not get rid of the DF03, its fun to drive and bullet proof, just not the best handling.

so has their been any discussion about when we wanna do this again?....ide like to know when i need parts by lol

if its that soon , does anyone have a set of metal outputs i could buy off of them for the df? my gear is still ok but i fear for my diff..it doesnt look to happy... would the slipper peg mod work with the original outputs?...it might not be too late to use them

It might work, but I have never tried it with the stock outputs. Even if those are ok to use, the plastic pieces that slide over them are probably already melted. It is worth a try, at the very least I would open the diff. up and see what it looks like.

Im down for the saturday the 31st if anyone else would like to come out.
