So the little tree wasn't enough?!? You guys had to put big rocks in front of it too?!?

I hate that little tree

Found the $25 coupon and just ordered a Mini Trophy. I need all the driving time I can get

What motors are being allowed? I better get one to replace the stocker that is soon to get smoked.

We might a well make the class open since the brushless motor clearly didn't help Jason.:ror:

I can probably spare an hour or so Saturday if anyone wants to meet up for a little bit. "thumbsup"

Hoping to get a new car or two this week. That will definitely motivate me to get out there.

I don't think anyone has found a brushed motor that will hold up yet Chad. My 16T 540 was running hot, Rodney's 16T 540 gave him problems, Turtle has gone through several Titan 550 motors.

Jason's Velinion seems to be reliable but adds to the cost.

How does the HPI Flux system compare to other brushless setups? I guess what I'm asking is this...Is it worth it to just spend the extra cash for the Flux Mini instead of upgrading the brushed version? I know it's more expensive, and the idea is to keep this a cheap class, but if we're all going to upgrade anyway, is it better to go with the Flux?

Also, is the radio the same? I haven't looked.

Also my truck is making a noise and I can't figure out why.

Jason's 3500 KV Velinion system was a bit faster than the stock truck but reasonably close after he dropped to a 14T pinion.

I have been eyeballing Leopard motors from Hobbypartz, but of course that means $70 for a Sidewinder ESC as well.

The Flux version comes with a 4800 KV motor so it should be quite a bit faster. It is likely that it will be more reliable though. Like Ty said, we might as well make it an open class since speed doesn't help and make these things more reliable.

I am still going to try a 21T brushed motor on 3S and see if that runs cooler but that will still have the added cost of a new ESC. Not sure what the best solution is yet.

If your looking for a decent reasonably priced brushless system guys you really can't go far wrong with the EzRun system.

Been running the 60A EzRun Esc in my Blitz and various touring cars for over 2 years now.
It's been flooded (although not waterproof and it stopped working there and then, it worked again when back home), it's been bashed, crashed and generally mistreated in all that time and STILL works better than my MMP.

If your feeling really flash then the XeRun sensored system is the best BL sensored system i've yet tried and i've tried everything from Castle to Tekin.
When i say the best i don't mean for the money either, i mean it's proved faster and more reliable than any other system i've run.

The EzRun motors are great and take a hell of a beating, on my Blitz the motor hangs out the arse end of the truck so it gets a a right old pummelling every drive, the EzRun motors shrug it off though "thumbsup"

The XeRun motors aren't as good though, i've had 3 of the older style fail on me over the years, so i use SpeedPassion V3 motors now instead.
Still using their Esc though even though i have a MMP in my spares box it's THAT much better "thumbsup"

Cheers
Mark

.

I agree 100% with your logic Fish.

Since there doesn't seem to be a lot of aftermarket parts for these anyway (is there?), there isn't much to worry about if someone wants to spend a ton of cash.

I say Open too

Not a ton that I have found.

CVDs, metal servo horn, different knuckles, shocks, bodies. That is really all I have found.

Just ordered mine :flipoff: should be here next week!"thumbsup" I'm thinking on putting my MMP in it, and then I've got a 17.5, 13.5, 10.5 or 8.5 to choose from. Anyone use the hard case Turnigy 2cell lipos? Fitment? I have 2- 5200's a 1- Maxamp 8000 soft.

That's what I thought...Seems like the only real Hop-up is in the motor department, and speed doesn't really help on that track. I would however like truer spinning wheels and I plan to do something with my rear shocks.

Just ordered mine :flipoff:

Woo-Hoo!

That is what I run. I have 6 of the 3800mah hard case 25 C Turnigy packs and all work perfect.

I use them in the Rally car and TT."thumbsup"

Plus they are available in the US warehouse and are only 17.00 a pack.

Anyone want to night race? :)
