Interest in Rally?

My TT-01 should drive better with the mods I made this week. If not I will at least look better with my "Moore Rally" Subaru.

Looking forward to it.

Gary

I don't think that the rules for this track really matter. If everyone wants to go brushless and whatever battery size, let's do it.

The other group that really started the rally and trophy class races here haven't even show up to these events. I too would rather run a brushless motor for reliability reasons and if I have to switch the motor out to run at their events it's really not that big of a deal.

The one thing that I really don't want to see is this get into a "money race", where the one that spends the most wins. I've seen it too many times in off road racing, crawlers, scalers and this too now were the basic idea of getting together with friends and like minded people ends up trying to one up the next guy and the fun disappears from the events. I will show up, but honestly I really would hate to see this get ruined too. It's fun now and I hope that it stays that way.

I think that as long as guys can still rub doors, and spin each other out it will stay fun, as soon as the racers come in and get pissed because they accidentally get rubbed that's when the fun goes away.

I can see your point of view and totally agree, I will put my 2200kv setup in my TT tomorrow.

I really don't see this getting to main stream (fingers crossed) I just think its too underground. After all I built this track to get away from tracks, the bad attitudes, groomed conditions and really wide stuff. Plus this is free! And really really fun.8)

Yep I agree that is the best part. I can always make the track more technical so speed really won't help at all.:ror:

We can just see how things go Saturday with all the different motor setups people want to run and go from there. Im really not worried anyway it will be fun even if Im getting lapped.

Can I run my mini e-revo? I don't have anything else nor cash to buy a new toy.

I bought this truck because it sounded like a great way to get together with my friends and bang some doors around a track. I'm in it for the laughs and nothing else.

If one of my friends needs to put in a brushless so he can run, I'd rather see that than him not show up.
What happens when all the brushed versions are sold out? Do we tell people they can't come play unless they put a brushed motor in?
I don't mind putting a brushed motor in but it will be a good Holmes Hobbies handwound. Compared to the stock motor, that's going to be like running a brushless.

I think we just need to have some gentleman's rules that say keep the speed close to stock. I doubt anyone is going to lap me because of the speed of their truck. If they do I'll put 'em in the tree the next time around. :ror:

I hope the other group shows up and I hope they let me run mine on 3S, because I'm not going to keep running mine on 6 cell NiMh's forever. :ror:

dave has a mini slash...and ive got a rally...maybe one of these times if we all bring the little ones we can run 2out 3 or somethin?

Ok I pulled a VXL from my Clod and will be putting that in at work tomorrow. VXL is rated at 3500kv, but I think they are more than that.

The stock TT is 4375kv and geared with a 18t pinion.

I'll drop the VXL in and put a 14t or 15t pinion in it and see what happens.

If somehow mine ends up being faster than everyone else, I'll just hang out and be the halftime entertainment."thumbsup":afro:

Now only if I had my truck  it would be so much better. I should have it Tuesday, so we will have to have another event soon after this one so I can rub doors with everyone!

Come on down Pat. It's all for fun anyway.

Just run the damn thing and watch out for Juan's patented T-bone move.

That sucks Todd. Hopefully we can do another one soon.

What would be a good base platform to start with or RTR. I know Traxxas has a 1/16th scale, and i've found a slew of Tamya Rally 1/10 cars. Any recomendations?

Everyone is welcome to bring whatever they want to come play on the track whenever they want. We can mash classes together its not a big deal. I created this track to have fun and get away from the race scene the minute it becomes to much/to serious Im taking a pick axe to the track.

So lets keep it light and fun.

With that said going out to groom the track and do some work around 1 today if anyone would like to come out.

Well I got the VXL in and tested, bad things are I lost the interior, the passenger side hexes keep tightening, and the drivers side hexes keep loosening.

Good things are my inner panels work great and I put 5000mah through it and the motor just barely broke 100 degrees. Anyone in for a long race?

It appears to be shooting the proper amount of roost!
